"I wanna play house."
"I wanna play cowboys."
"I wanna play tea party."
"No one wants to play with you, you're a dumb boy."
"Nu uh!"
"Uh huh!"
The elder Hewley kids sat out in the yard debating what to play. None of the four kids could agree on one thing. It wasn't until Adam popped up, a smirk on his face. "Lets play pirates." Kenna tiled her head "How do we do that?" The smirk widened, "Well first we have to figure out who is going to be the prisoner." The sandy haired boy drew his siblings in and gave them instructions.
Angeal let out a tired sigh as he walked through the door. The chocobos had given him a run for his money and he was beat. He could hear the shower going upstairs which could only mean Vincent was in it. The house was clean as always and he could see piles of clothes in front of the laundry room, separated neatly. The big man looked around. Something was off. It was way too quiet for a home with six kids. Before he could give it another thought, Charlotte and Kenna skipped in "Daddy!" Angeal smiled warmly and kissed their foreheads. "How was your day?" They looked to each other and grinned. Kenna stepped back a bit "Look what I learned how to do."
The small girl started doing tumbles and cartwheels for about a minute before landing with a "Ta da!" Angeal clapped lightly and chuckled, "But you showed me you know how to do those before, Sweetie." The little girl laughed and shook her head.
"Not as a distrrrraaaccctttiiiooon"
"Huh?" Angeal had no reaction time before he was pulled to the floor. He fell with a loud thump and looked up to see the remainder of his kids, grinning. It was when he saw the rope tied around his ankles that he started to worry. One kid ran around, catching his attention while the other tied his hands together. Then each kid took a piece of the rope that was tied around his ankles and pulled, dragging him off.
Vincent came out of the room, his hair damp. The house was quiet which was odd. He glanced to the clock and looked around again. Angeal should have been home by now and none of the kids were to be seen. He walked over the window and saw his kids dancing around something large. When they somehow pulled the object up, he saw that it was his husband...all tied up. They jabbed the larger man in the back with fake swords and sticks until he waddled to a plank held up by cinder blocks that loomed over a kiddie pool. Vincent laughed and decided to come out only right before they jabbed him over the edge.
"Alright kids, play time is over. Go inside."
He look to the sea of pouts and sighed, "Now." Nathan went up to his mother, "But we're playing pirates with Daddy." Vincent picked up her son and chuckled, "I know, you can play tomorrow. I'm going to start dinner soon. I know you little pirates are hungry. Now all of you go in and wash up." He set the boy down after kissing his cheek and the others followed him into the house. Vincent walked over to his husband and removed the cloth that was gagging him. "Outsmarted by children..."
"To be fair, they're pretty sneaky. They get it from you. Damn Turk"
"I thought a SOLDIER was supposed to be ready for anything."
"I didn't expect my own kids to turn on me. They tie up pretty good knots. Can't help but be a little proud of them."
"Alway a father through and through."
"yeah but that feeling is gone now..."
"Oh? Why?"
"The little vultures took my pocket change!"
