Me: Hello everyone! I have finally returned! So white petal and I were discussing about how Atem lost his memory while he was in the puzzle and yet he was perfectly fine when he got out. You would think that over a thousand years of nothing but darkness and no memory of how you got there would seriously mess someone up. Unless, he wasn't alone. For those of you that haven't read my stuff based in Ancient Egypt, you will likely be very confused. For those of you that have read my stuff based in Egypt, I dare you guys to try and guess who the mystery woman is. I only own her, and nothing else. ;)

To say that Atem was lost and confused as he wandered the dark confides of his mind was major understatement. Atem was not only lost and confused, but he was also lonely. He felt empty. He didn't remember his name, he didn't remember anything from his life before, he only knew darkness. However, he would hear someone hidden in the darkness. He could hear soft footsteps, but they were echoing so much he couldn't figure out where they were coming from.

"Hello? Whose there?!"

"Don't be afraid." A female voice said from the dark. He couldn't explain it, but a small part of him felt relived to hear that voice.

"Who are you?" He asked and a young woman in white and gold stepped from the shadows with a sweet smile on her face.

"Think of me as your guardian angel. You don't remember me now, but you will in time." Atem closed his eyes as she touched his cheek. Her fingers were warm and comforting.

"I feel so lost." He muttered. The young woman sighed.

"You won't feel that way for long. Someone will find you and set you free." She started to step back into the shadows when Atem called to her.

"Can you at least give me a clue as to who you are?" She paused. When she turned, she had a smile on her face. For some unknown reason, Atem felt his heart flutter like a bird.

"Alright, I told you that I was your guardian angel. This will not make sense now, but in the shadows, light always remains. Do not lose hope. Someone will find you, just as you found me." Atem blinked. Before he could ask what she meant, the woman vanished.

Atem was aware that time was slipping away from him as he wandered the confinements of his prison. Every so often, he would get a visit from the young woman in white and gold. Atem felt slightly irritated that he didn't remember her when she seemed so familiar. One time, he asked if he could know her name, but she shook her head.

"You'll know my name when you remember yours." Atem frowned.

"Can I at least call you something? A nickname of sorts." She paused before answering with another smile.

"Call me Mistress." Atem nodded.

"Alright, Mistress."

One time, Atem was speaking with Mistress when he felt a jolt. Mistress frowned, but her frown was replaced with a smile.

"It seems that it is time for you to awaken once more." Atem frowned.

"What do you mean?" He felt another jolt, this one stronger then the last. Mistress smiled kindly

"Do not fret, it is time for you to return and stop the Shadow Games." Another jolt. Atem looked at her.

"Will I see you again?"

"Perhaps, when the time is right, but until, I bid thee farewell." A light blinded him and when he opened his eyes, he was surrounded by shadow creatures that looked unhappy to see him.

"Creatures of the darkness, Return to the Realm of Shadows from whence you came!" He ordered as coils of light blinded the creatures and dragged them back into the depths of the puzzle. Atem was pulled back into the puzzle as well. When he returned to his soulroom, he expected to find Mistress there, waiting, but she wasn't. In fact, he couldn't find her at all. That loneliness started to gnaw at his heart again. Now he felt so alone, that is until he met them...
