Author's Note:

This poem is told about Severus Snape from Hermione's point of view. Originally, it was not written for this couple, but I just thought that it fit. Mione and Severus are one of my favorite Harry Potter couples, so I thought I'd put my two cents in about them.

So, without further ado…

I know what they think of you,

I used to think the same

That you were mean and unpleasant,

You saw our lives as a game.

They suited you so well,

The names they gave to you,

I never thought they were wrong.,

Never thought their lies untrue.

And then I saw the real you,

And it was different from before.

The harshness and indifference once shown,

Were there no more.

The way you acted,

Was merely just that, an act.

You are a man of love, happiness, and life,

Not one of these gifts lacked.

You let me past the walls

Put up around your mind

To keep people from finding out

Just what I did find.

I found that I can love you,

And believe me, I do,

And I want you to know this

Without any further ado.

I just hope you can forgive me

For believing all their lies,

You needn't tell me how they hurt you,

I've heard your silent cries.

We can stand against them in concert,

Walking hand in hand,

Say what they will, we love each other,

And together we will stand.

Forever.
