Castle
Ok, this is my take on what could happen after the Canadian Promo.
"Stay with me,"
She was so cold, so, so cold. The only thing keeping her alive was Castle's voice and body heat. She fought with her heart, forcing it to keep beating, forcing her lungs to work. By the time the doors smashed open, she had used all of her energy. The world blackened as someone lifted her up, out of Castle's arms.
"Detective Beckett, are you awake?"
Kate Beckett opened her eyes groggily, the memories of the cold sending a final shiver through her body. Alexis Castle stood at the end of her hospital bed, worry lines etched into her face. Kate smiled at her, wincing at her jaw muscle's protest.
"Oh, good," Alexis gasped, "You had me so worried. I've been kicked out of Dad's room, so I came to see you. But I have to go now; they should be finished in his room."
Before Beckett could say anything she was gone, and Beckett was left with the depressing sound of her heart monitor telling her that she was still alive.
"Boss,"
Ryan and Esposito walked in, smiles of relief on their faces.
"How's Castle?" she asked. Both of their faces fell, and they glanced at each other. A sinking feeling penetrated Beckett's stomach, and she sat up in bed, ignoring the dull pain of muscles recently thawed.
"Not good," Esposito warned, "He spent most of his body heat keeping you warm, and he was pressed right up against the wall."
"He's not dead," Ryan interrupted, "But he hasn't woken up yet."
"How did you find us?" Beckett forced down the panic and fear, "We were sure that we were going to die."
"Montgomery tried to call you, he got worried when you didn't answer, and so he managed to track Castle's phone to within a few metres."
"Did you find the bomb?" Beckett asked, "it was in the van next to the crate."
"There was no van," Ryan frowned, "Damn it, the bomb is still out there."
"Detective Beckett," Alexis ran into the room, "He's awake, he's awake, and you have to come because he's being unreasonable."
"Sounds like Castle," Esposito joked, but the affectionate smile softened the barb.
'I'd better go see what he wants," Beckett agreed, "Alexis, pass me a wheelchair please."
The left the room, and Ryan nudged Esposito, "20 bucks says they cave in the next hour."
"No deal bro," Esposito shook his head, "I agree with you."
They too left, and headed towards the room of their unusual, but lovable, colleague.
