Crumpled. Drake/Josh. 287 words. general.
The action was small and insignificant to anybody who might've even been paying at least half attention. But nobody was because everybody was filling the spacious hallways of Belleview High in between classes one afternoon. Everyone was rushing; quick to get to their lockers, trying to catch up on conversations with friends, and hurrying to make it to their next class. Nobody noticed the two boys and they preferred it that way.
Drake had his lanky, blazer-covered arm resting on the shoulders of Carly, whose left arm was casually at the small of his back and squeezing his hip lightly. She was laughing at something he said and he grinned because he liked making her laugh and the way her brown eyes would light up. He looked from her to down the hall and smiled even bigger when he saw his step-brother, Josh, standing at his own locker as he gathered his books. Drake reached into his back pocket and as he and Carly passed Josh, he grabbed for Josh's free hand.
"Hey Josh."
"Hey Drake."
Small. Tiny. Insignificant. A mere handshake between two best friends; Drake continued walking and he started listening as Carly was asking about the plans they could make for this weekend.
Josh smiled and opened the folded piece of yellow paper Drake had slipped him. There were doodles of guitars, rockets, shapes…whatever. He rolled his eyes when he realized that this is what Drake had been working on so intently when he should've been listening to Mrs. Hafer. But upon scanning the note, he smiled as he saw the words scrawled out in dark blue ink near the bottom of the frayed paper;
