Slipping through my fingers
I long to keep you safe
As gentle as I want to be
I don't know how
I try to say I love you
As best as I can
But when I do
It comes out wrong
I often chase my former lover
Much to your displeasure
But I can't help it
I've become confused
When I lose myself
Hold me close
When I run away
Pull me back
Tell me what to do
Tell me how to act
Please bear with me
