AN: I don't own Leon, Cloud or Yuffie - I just write about them.

"You're drunk."

Bleary eyes looked up at the person who had spoken. Cloud shook his head, then returned his gaze to the view from the balcony. "Not drunk enough."

Leon glanced at the bottle clutched in Cloud's left hand. He recognised it as the one Yuffie had bought for the blond's birthday the week before, and knew that it had only been opened that night. If Cloud had actually drunk half of it already, he was definitely tipsy by now.

"Can I ask what this is all in aid of?"

"You can ask. Doesn't mean you'll get an answer." Cloud took another swig from the bottle, but ended up coughing violently. "Damn, this stuff's strong. You'd think I'd have got used to it by now."

"Yuffie bought it. Of course it's going to be strong."

Leon couldn't help noticing that Cloud winced at the mention of Yuffie's name. That suggested the hyperactive ninja was involved somehow.

"Ok, what has she done this time?"

Cloud slumped to the floor, resting his head in his hands. "Do I really have to answer that?"

"Well, if you don't, I'm going to ask her."

"Oh hell, don't do that."

"You'll have to tell me, then."

"You know how she's obsessed with pairing everybody up, right?" Leon nodded, gesturing for Cloud to continue. "She… got a little too close to the truth today, trying to find someone I might like."

"Is that really such a bad thing?"

Cloud blushed, turning away from Leon and nodding.

"Who, then, if it's so embarrassing?"

Cloud mumbled something unintelligible. Leon crouched down in front of him, looking intently at the blond. "You'll have to say that again, Cloud, since I couldn't hear you."

This time, Cloud actually looked Leon directly in the eyes. "I said it was you, damn it. Now go away and leave me alone."

He tried to take another drink, but the bottle was wrenched out of his hand before he could. Instead, he found warm, soft lips pressed against his, and Leon's arms around him.

"Why didn't you say anything before?"

"Why didn't you?"

Realising that the blond had a point, Leon decided that less talking, more kissing was a good idea, and that a bedroom was a far better place for it than the balcony.
