Chapter 1: Surprise!

"Sshhh" whispered Jack to Owen and Gwen as they crept along the dark tunnel

"Sshhh yourself Jack" Owen grumbled

"Im not three, I know how to keep quiet"

"Well then try exercising that knowledge you idiot or she will hear us" Jack jeered as they sneaked forward SLAP SLAP

"OUCH" the boys squeaked Gwen was really effective at slapping them round the head.

"You both shut up or there will be worse to come!" Gwen hissed.

"Sorry" they whispered in unison. They carried on sneaking along for about five minutes when jack stopped

"everyone ready?" jack asked as they crouched by a tiny door – which Owen hoped was for the torchwood mascot a big doggish alien thingy (they didn't have a mascot but live in hope), the only one who had any idea what it was for was Ianto and there was no way that he was going to ask that coffee making poof!- The door was about as high as Gwen's waist but now they were crouching was the perfect height , it had a large 'T' printed on it in radioactive yellow. As far as Jack was concerned this was the best idea he had had since he bought Ianto that spare stop watch just in case .It was Toshiko's birthday so they planned on sneaking up on her wearing clown masks and shout 'Happy Birthday' ,god only knows why Owen had decided to tag along probably hoping that if he was nice enough to Tosh she would let him have another go with the teleporter but after the last time when he teleported himself into a weevil nest ,good thing they are heavy sleepers , she wouldn't let him touch it! Then Jack started

"five ,four ,three ,two…"

"Wait wait do we go on one or just after" Owen whispered sounding more nervous liked to have them know.

"Bloody hell! We go on one you idiot" Jack hissed

"Ohh well im sorry!" Owen grumbled

"You should …" SLAP SLAP Jack didn't even get to finish

"Once more and I will just shooting!" Gwen screeched under her breath

"Sorry" the two of them said in unison. Once again Jack started

"Five, four, three, two, ONE!"

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" they all screeched masks firmly attached to their faces as they jumped from there hiding place in to the hub

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH get-away

Get-away get-away" Tosh screamed fumbling to find her gun.

"Whoa Tosh it's me jack!" He said removing his mask with this gesture the others did the same, looking sheepish.

"Bloody hell Jack what is wrong with you!" Tosh shouted temper rising she slammed the gun down setting it of

"SHIT" Yelled Ianto who had come to see what was wrong.

"I only came to see if you were ok, you didn't have to shoot at me" he was white as a sheet; the bullet had only just missed him.

"Sorry Ianto it was an accident plus logically it was there fault!" she said pointing towards the three who were now cowering by the sofa

"They snuck up on me wearing clown masks!"

"It was your birthday surprise!" Jack protested truly hurt that his plan had not had the desired effect

"I didn't think you were scared of clowns, if im scared of something I just shoot it, job done!" Ianto rolled his eyes and smirked.
