Chapter 1; A Strange Appearance

Levy McGarden held the Cola firmly as the condensation from it ran down her hand in the summer heat. She reclined in her beach chair with the latest volume in the Majestic Romance series, letting the sound of seagulls, the ocean waves, and kids playing be her background music. However she wasn't completely focused on her book. Gradually Levy's mind drifted back to the guild, the fun they had, and the daily spouts between Gray and Natsu. She missed hanging out with Lucy, Jet, Droy, Liliana, and Panther Lily… She sighed out loud and hung her shoulders. She wondered where Gajeel was, if he was okay, if he was getting enough iron, but she knew Lily was with him so she wasn't too worried about him.

More than that she wondered if he missed her as much as she him. She thought about it but threw the thought aside. Of course he didn't miss her, he was probably absorbed in his training, just like everyone else most likely was. She sighed again and wondered where she might be right then if the guild hadn't disbanded. She released her new found treasure and moved her right hand along the symbol of Fairy Tail on her back left shoulder; thinking back when she had first gotten it. How proud she'd been being accepted to such a strong and well-known guild and all the other memories leading up to the disbanding.

When she and Gajeel went their separate ways she swore to herself that she would become stronger. Not only did she become stronger, but now she was nearly as strong as an S- class mage. She had actually received many offers from other guilds, but turned them down every time they asked. She had resolved that no matter the guild or what they had to offer, she would NOT remove her symbol. Again she fingered the Fairy Tale symbol on her back and grew solemn over all the memories and adventures it represented…

She shook her head. No, she thought to herself, I am not going to spoil a great day like this thinking about the past. She leaned back and opened her book to the last page she was on when suddenly, a dark shadow blocked out the sun. Her brows drew together as she tried to keep reading but the stress was hurting her eyes. She looked up at the tall figure.

"Excuse me but your kind of blocking the sun…-" she let the sentence trail off as she realized that this strange person looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't get a good view because of the sun's position. The strange but somewhat handsome man in front of her was at least a head and a half taller then she with short hair. He was very well built and extremely muscular. She saw his lips draw back in a white, toothy smile. She squinted her eyes not believing what she saw, thinking she might be dehydrated or the sun was playing tricks on her heart and mind. All doubts however were washed away with what he said next.

"Heh, figures. The hell you doing reading on a beach, Shrimp?" Said Gajeel in that deep rustic voice of his.

And then Levy started crying.
