A/N: W-o-w! It's been forever since I've posted anything! Sorry this isn't a new chapter of Lunar Eclipse -please don't eat me!- but it is better than nothing! I haven't had much time to write recently, but with Winter Break creeping up and the finding of my incredibly missed notebook, that should change very soon. So without further ado, here's a little one-shot about what Bella described as Alice and Jasper's "dance" in Eclipse. Enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jasper's POV
I could sense Bella's anxiousness as Alice and I took our places in the center of the moonlit clearing. Even though the tension emanating between the two groups --and Bella who may have been more tense than both parties combined-- had lowered drastically, it was still unnerving to be the only thing separating my family and the wolves.
Alice gave a small nod in the direction of the wolves and wrinkled her nose in mock disgust. I gave her a small smile as we took our stances. The would-be silence between us was filled with the erratic breathing of Bella and the low whining and growling of the wolves.
Alice raised an eyebrow at me to ask Ready?
In a split second I pretended to tip my hat like a good southern gentleman. She gave me a wide, care-free grin. The moon reflected in her dark, playful eyes.
I sprang towards her. Those eyes flashed at me mischievously as she slid out of the way with ease. We continued that cycle, slowly at first, but speeding up as the noises around us melted away one by one into an unbreakable silence.
We stayed in perfect rhythm with one another, as if a drum only we could hear was keeping us in sync. Alice read everyone of my moves flawlessly. I was glad she would be fighting by my side. As we continued to move faster and faster, I could feel the eyes watching us, the emotions --tension, awe, anticipation-- flooding the clearing surrounding us.
I don't know how long the two of us kept going like that in the crisp night air. As she maneuvered around each one of my attacks, I threw her a glance to ask if she wanted to stop.
She raised an eyebrow at me, her grin mischievous. Who, me? she seemed to ask. I smiled back as I sprang towards her again and again.
Finally, I began to grow tired of our little demonstration, not to mention Emmett's anxiousness was beginning to irritate me. Having identified it as a weak spot early on, I dove for her left side.
Alice leaped into the air. Before I had time to think, she was on my back with her small arms around my neck. I felt the electrifying sensation of her lips against my neck.
There was an audible smirk in her voice as she mused, "Gotcha."

A/N: Okay so I was sitting in the car listening to the radio and the song "Into the Night" by Santana featuring Chad What's-His-Face from Nickelback and it reminded me of how Bella described the scene in the clearing only more from Jasper's POV... So I wrote it! If you go back and read it again while you listen to the song or just listen to the lyrics, the connection is really cool!
Now that my notebook which was missing for a little while is back in my posession, expect more stories from me or joint written with my best buddy Hermione.
Expect "A Cullen Christmas Tale" sometime in the near future ;D
Happy Holidays!
