Peace in Hiding
For spawnspectre
Author's note: This poem is quite different from my love poems; this is meant to be sort of inner monologue of someone. If you need more research Google "Metal Gear Peace Walker Video Walkthrough: Date with Paz (Ex Ops 67)" and watch the video particularly the way to fail the mission.
I am alone
The sounds of my breathing
Are no comfort
I am afraid
Of the man
They call him
A name
My fear makes me
Forget
It is the name of a reptile
That's all I know
He tried to take me
I resisted
He chased me
I ran as far as I could
To this place
Decrepit
A house
Off the beaten path
I hide
The musty loneliness
Is not of any use
I hear creaking
Boards releasing their yawns
From a slumber untold
My heart races
I can hear him roam
I can hear him call
Call for me
I wait
I pray
For him
Not to look upstairs
To the room with the old mattress
I hear footsteps
Creaking steps
The sun is gone
Slivers of moonlight
Peek from window
I can see them
Under the door
I hear a sound
The click of a door knob
He's here
I hear him again
I hear his boots
Hammer the floor
I see a shadow
Where I hide
The knob rattles
I stifle a scream
He looks in
Found you
He says with a smirk
Now I scream
He picks me up
I go numb
I don't fight
I lost
I am the prize
The predator has won
