Life After the Mage

"Before I leave, I need to tell you something." Fai said, weak. "What is it?" Kurogane said solemn. "I love you." Losing all strength, Fai died. Sakura, Syaoran, and Mokona started crying uncontrollably. Kurogane cried as well, maybe the hardest since his mother was killed. "Do we go to the next world?" Syaoran said while crying. "No, we can't leave Fai here." Sakura whispered. "What about your feathers?" "I have enough of them." "But, would Fai want you to do that?" Syaoran said continuing to cry. "N-No, I know he wouldn't but, I don't think I can leave." Sakura cried. "But Sakura, without those feathers...you'll..." Sakura stood up. "Fai, I know you can't hear me but, for you I'm going to resume the journey." Sakura cried with a smile. Kurogane stayed...That was five years ago, this is today. Kurogane was dull, and worked at an office building. He hated his job and his life. Syaoran and Sakura returned to Celes- (where Fai passed)- Mokona stayed with Syaoran and Sakura the entire time. Kurogane learned the Celes language. "It's today, right?" Syaoran asked. Kurogane noded. "Today is the day." Kurogane said solemnly. The day was the 5th anniversary of Fai's death. Going to his grave, Kurogane remembered some of the old memories he and Fai shared. (Kurogane, eh?) (What about Kuro-pu or Kuro-rin?) (Kuro-rin, Kuro-rin!~) "How he cared so less of himself..." (Don't worry about me, I'll live somehow!) (Good morning, Kurogane.)"But cared so much of others..." (If he dies then...then...) (I think Syaoran has a fever...) "He was willing to die for our sake..." (No, continue the journey, I'll take my fate...) (Don't touch him...) "What an idiot...what a huge idiot." They reached Fai's grave; Kurogane crouched down to the grave. "But..." Hair went over Kurogane's eyes as a tear ran down his face. "He was myidiot..." Sakura put flowers on his grave, same with Syaoran. "He told me he loved me.." Kurogane thought. "I wish I could of told him that I felt the same..." Kurogane looked over to the left of him. "Mage?" Kurogane shouted. The image of Fai was crying, but smiling. "A spirit?" The spirit couldn't speak but it mouthed-out the words: 'I miss you.' Then it dissapeared. That night, Kurogane had many flashbacks. But they weren't his flashbacks...was it the mage's? Horrible images flashed before his eyes, being buried in dead bodies, scraping nails and fingers almost literally to the bone, blood lots of blood, everywhere. He heard screaming, crunching of bones and maybe even minds. Kurogane flashed out of the horrible 'flashback'. Kurogane looked around the room, he was still in his house. Was this the result of his throbbing pain of misery that he felt? "Kurogane, Kurogane!" "Can you hear me?" "Please wake up..." Kurogane opened his eyes..."Mage?" "Thank goodness, your okay..." " W-What happened?" "You fell off that mountain half-way." "I'm just glad you're-" Kurogane hugged Fai. "Mage, I'm sorry for anything I have ever done to you..." "..." Fai blushed as he was being hugged. "I thought you were dead..." Fai hugged him back. "Looks like Kuro-rin had a bad dream." "It's Kurogane for the millionth time!" They chased each other, and for the first time...Kurogane smiled.
