Eren leaned against the tree, staring down at the ugly wound across is torso. He slid down into a sitting position, and felt the warm stream of blood soak the ground underneath him. It started to run out of his mouth, and he knew his time was coming. He didn't know how anybody was going to deal with this, he was humanity's hope. Maybe they would capture the Female Titan and get information out of her, but he didn't know what to expect now. Mikasa would be sad, he was all she had left. Armin would cry for his best friend. Levi would probably be angry. Eren could hear the corporal's sarcastic voice ringing through his head. "Tch, I thought you were stronger than this, brat. You're a disappointment." Though Levi would probably be sad too. He wondered how many people would cry for him as his life slipped slowly slipped away from him.

I'm coming home, I'm coming home,
Tell the world I'm coming home

"Shit, where did he go?" Levi yelled. He already found the rest of his deceased squad, but Eren was nowhere to be found. "I swear, if that brat goes and dies, I'll..." Levi paused. What would he do? Would he care? Would he cry? He didn't really know how he felt towards Eren. "Tch, this is irritating, if he's alive he'll be on stable duty for the next year!" Levi scoffed as he flew slowly through the trees, searching everywhere for his young squad mate. He saw many bodies, but none belonged to the Jaeger boy. He was about to give up when he saw a familiar figure sitting against a tree. Levi landed and kneeled down beside Eren. He noticed that Eren had a long, deep wound running down his torso. Levi shook Eren but Eren did not stir. "Eren...!" "Eren!" Levi shook the boy and yelled his name, but Eren never showed any signs of response.

Let the rain wash away
All the pain of yesterday

Eren heard his Corporal yelling his name, he could feel Levi's hands shaking him. He wanted to respond, he wanted to tell Levi that he was going to be alright, but he'd never lied to the Corporal. and he wasn't going to start now. Eren's life was hanging by a thread, and there was nothing Eren could do about it. He prayed that he could get up and walk out of the forest with Levi at his side, but his limbs didn't respond to his brain. His whole body screamed with pain, and some parts had started to go numb with coldness. Eren's eyes fluttered, and Levi received a shard of hope, but then they shut forever. Eren had let go of the thread that was keeping him alive.

I know my kingdom awaits,
And they've forgiven my mistakes

"Hi, Mom." Carla turned around to see her son standing there. "Eren...is that you?" She said, her voice barely above a whisper. Eren smiled. and embraced her in a hug. It had been 5 years since she got to hug her son, and she was soon crying into his neck. clinging on to the fabric of his jacket. "No...Eren, you shouldn't be here...it's too early..." Eren gave her a sad smile. "I know I shouldn't, but the Female Titan's just too strong..." Carla hugged her son once more. "It's okay, Mom. I'm home."

I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Tell the world I'm coming

Levi sat down beside his dead comrade. "You're a real asshole, Eren. You know that?" Levi looked down. "But I'm glad I got to battle by your side." "You're a true soldier, Jaeger, a brave man." "You were humanity's hope." I'll make sure nobody ever forgets that."

"I missed you so much, Eren." "You've grown so tall." Carla and Eren sat together on a hill somewhere. "I missed you too, Mom. I missed you everyday since you died." "But now I don't have to worry anymore, I'm home. I'm finally home."

home.
