A Watchers Tale
From Ripper to Rupert, we've seen it all.
To become a Watcher, was his call.
His dreams of pilots, and grocery stores.
Were locked away, behind closed doors.
A family tradition he was to pursue.
Lead the Slayer he was destined to do.
In Sunnydale he met his charge.
Where the Hellmouths evil, was at large.
A normal life Buffy hoped to find.
But in the library a new Watcher was assigned.
When first they met, they couldn't agree.
The book of 'Vampyrs' she refused to see.
From that day his devotions were altered.
It's been a stormy path and they both have faltered.
He's come to love her like a daughter.
Neither was prepared for the chaos and slaughter.
As time has past, they've grown apart.
But will always be in each others heart.
Through seven years we've seen Giles grow.
There's been fun and laughter, death and sorrow.
He did his best to lead the way.
Even though the Scoobys went a stray.
The finale battle has now been won.
A change in Slayer history has begun.
