The Shinomiya household.
Revered for being a family of power for over 3 centuries, they have been an icon of success for Japan.
Especially today.
But what truly is behind this family? This group? What forces could actually be responsible for their success?
One word: Hayasaka.
The infamous clan that has served the Shinomiya long before they even started to prosper, the Hayasaka's been an important asset as to what Shinomiya is right now.
With their sharp wits and light footwork, the Hayasakas has been a necessity for the thriving business of the latter. Be it servants, envoys, or even an offensive military force, they're loyalty has been out of the question due to the large number of things they're willing to do for their masters.
But what exactly is this Hayasaka?
"There they are, Kai," a higher servant of the main house whispered softly, spotting their target for assassination. "Three bodyguards, he's that edgy one in the middle. Make sure to keep it clean, Kai."
Retreating his eyes out of the lenses of his binoculars, the blond-haired servant waved his hands after raising it, signaling the beginning of their mission.
"Understood. Eliminating the target." Azure blue eyes reflected out of the scope as Kai wiggled his hands and positioned it to the trigger slowly. He then inhaled slowly and paid careful attention to his pulse.
dub-dub.
"3..."
dub...dub
"2..."
dub...
"1..."
dub-
Pulling the trigger swiftly as the cold wind rushed through his blonde bangs, resulting in his hair to block his left eye. His hair then fell back naturally, revealing a pool of red and a dead body to his left eye right after.
"Kill confirmed. That should teach them, rendezvous at the designated area. I'll handle the rest as usual. ETA 5 minutes."
"Understood. I'm off."
Taking his sniper as he avoids the edge of the building to avoid being seen, he put it to the ground and immediately reached for the violin case resting comfortably on his back. Disassembling his sniper and hiding it perfectly on his violin case, he started to find his way out of the building and then he crossed the street.
Discreetly checking his surroundings to make sure that he wasn't followed, he proceeded to enter a certain abandoned parking lot and made his way to its top floor.
"Good job, as usual, Kai!"
A middle-aged man in a dashing black suit greeted him. He smiled back as he took the violin case that was strapped on his shoulder and gave it to him. The man grinned widely as it shows a remarkably sinister aura as it looked behind him. He glanced back. Sighing hard as he sees who was behind him.
"It's nice to see your group pretty lively now, but isn't now the worst time to relax, you still have work you need to do."
Kairo Shinomiya. Gan'an's dog if you will. He's a foul person completely prepared to lick the asses of his superiors if it meant promotion. Seeing his face here was bad news, that they all knew.
"Leave us alone, you numbskull! We don't need your guidance!"
Retorting offensively, one of Kai's senior co-worker, and his sworn teacher, he defensively wrapped a hand around Kai, showing signs of protectivity.
"Rokuin-sensei, don't talk to dogs, they don't speak. They bark."
Dusting off his hands, he sealed his mouth as he made way to the black van, sitting to the far right of the middle of the truck. Bored, he reached for a knife on the back of his coat and flung it around. Obviously uninterested of the current happenings.
"Say that to my face, you bastard!"
Hearing the insult directed to him, he glanced back uninterestedly. Halting his hand's movements as he spoke.
"Sorry, talk to me again when you don't drop on all fours just to lick your owner.
Annoyed, a vein popped of Kairo's forehead. He then retaliated back, hoping to crush the skull of said child. If only 2 veteran assassins weren't taking care of him.
"Come back here!"
The van started to move. And with it, the window of Kairo's side started to unlock. Kai peeked out of this window, insulting his enemy even further
"Not to mention you also look like one! You dipshit!"
Laughter broke out of the van, with his 2 seniors looking back to their opponent disappearing to the distance, they made their way back down the building and left. Staring back at him, one of his seniors said;
"He'll come up with some shitty story to frame us again, Kai."
Hearing the worried words of his senior, he scoffed. Looking at the window close to him. He sighed.
'It's not like it's the first time, isn't it?"
Feeling disgusted after reminiscing all the horrible things that man did to them, Kai noticed his breathing getting forced. It must be because of annoyance.
"You're right,"
"Thank you for your service, as usual, Kai."
Standing on a big screen in the middle of a dimly lit room, Kai pleasantly looked at what seems like a big panel dug deep on the walls of the place. Smirking as he accepts the words of appreciation a certain man gave him, he bowed deeply and answered.
"It's nothing, sir."
Shinomiya Gan'an. Also known as the person on top of all the Shinomiyas, and arguably the person on top of Japan. He leads the whole Shinomiya group and its underground business. Truly a person to fear. He's also the clan's head and is a bona fide madman. From governing a company that sells automobiles to governing underground human trafficking association, Gan'an never fails to amaze as he once again succeeded to easily track and eliminate a potential enemy.
They do say a war starts before it begins, so this tactic is the one that they've grown used to. Quick and deadly as they do say.
"Speaking of which, Kai-kun. How old are you?"
He winced, shocked by the sudden question pushed into him. Who could've known that this man actually cared about his employees?
"I'm 18, sir. Why?"
Puzzled of the unexpected development, he looked up to the screen as his boss gives a rather sinister smirk.
"Perfect."
Exhaling slowly, cold sweat appeared on his forehead cruising to his cheeks. Indicating a sign of another ridiculous scheme his boss has in mind. Looking back on all of the things he had made them do, he wondered what in the world could actually be left undone by his team. Picking himself up after being astray, he asked;
"Why, sir?"
"Ever considered being excommunicated?"
'Just how many surprises do you have in store, tell me.'
The history of excommunicated Hayasakas. Counting down to a measly three, the Hayasakas that are excommunicated are given freedom. They're usually highly ranked servants that are too old to continue working, but in his case, he's only started working for them when he was 15, that's 3 years ago. So having the idea of excommunication brought up by his boss is puzzling.
"It never crossed my mind, sir. Why?"
A wry grin. That's the expression his boss released after hearing him. His boss tilted his head to a direction then seemingly took something. He held a folder up then tapped it on his palm.
"What a hard-working child you are, Kai. You never even considered being excommunicated? How lucky have I been to have you?!"
Kai had a grim expression. Nervous for what sort of trouble his boss' gonna be subjecting him to.
"Well, here's the thing. I'll excommunicate you. For 2 conditions."
Kai raised a brow. "Excommunicate you..." Never once in his life had he dreamed that his boss would say those words to him. So he felt glad. If only there weren't any conditions.
"First..."
His expression became serious.
"Kill my secretary, Kai."
Kai's azure blue eyes widened. His brows wrinkled as he tilted his head in confusion.
"Why, sir?"
His eye dropped. Scrolling through a document that can't be seen on screen.
"He's a traitor. Investigations says that the failed assassination attempt at the 3 Headed Dragon Bigshot: Wu Leong, the one your team did, was foiled due to his interactions with the Chinese mafia. It must've been because of his hatred to you and your team. I repeat: Kill him."
A sinister grin flashed on Kai's face. Brushing his hair upwards, he immediately reached to a gun inside his clothing and cocked it.
"And the other one?"
Asking him while aiming at the screen with the gun, he dropped its magazine and counted its bullets.
'1 should do.'
His boss tapped the folder at a table, fixing the documents' position neatly inside the folder.
"As for that..."
"Dammit!"
Kairo Shinomiya screamed. He was at the laundry to wash his clothes but it seems that the shop is full. It's his 4th shop that he visited in his area. Gritting his teeth in disappointment, Kairo surrendered and took his basket of clothes.
Leaving the shop, he took his key for his Lamborghini and pressed a button. Opening the door of his Lamborghini that was parked in a lot. One that's somehow deserted of people.
Not minding his surroundings, he nonchalantly threw his basket inside the cabin, entering it afterward.
"Do I really have to travel to Tokyo just to wash my clothes? Dammit!"
Pushing the keys of his car to its designated keyhole, he fixed his rear mirror, only to see someone sitting at the backseat, rather comfortably.
"Soundproof inside, Bulletproof outside! Not to mention that you can't see what's happening inside if you are outside too! It seems to me that you really wanted to be murdered."
Sweating buckets after he felt the muzzle of a gun touch his neck, he raised his hand and scowled.
"Whose money did you use to buy this car? The association? Or the 3 Headed Dragons?"
Hearing the cocking sound of a Five-seven, Kairo retired as he sighed an air of disappointment.
"I really hope you have a special place in hell JUST for you, Kai."
Frowning after surrendering to his fate, he stated.
"Oh, I'm pretty sure I do! And so do you."
Pulling the trigger, a gunshot was concealed inside the car as the bullet ricocheted at the windshield. Bouncing back to Kairo's already dead face.
"But I gotta say, I'm sorry. You're not a dog. At least dogs are loyal to their owners."
Taking a mask as he covers his face, he exited the car swiftly. Covering his head with a hoodie too.
'Now, now...'
"Kaguya-sama..."
Ai handed over a bag to Kaguya. One that she easily accepted. Looking at her side of the Limo, she saw her reviewing her plans as the rest of her hands tremble.
"Hey, Hayasaka...You're sure that'll work? I mean the president can be so dense sometimes. Actually EVERYtime, so there's a big chance that he wo-"
"Don't sweat it too much, Kaguya-sama. You'll jinx it."
"But-"
As Kaguya was about to retort, the car stopped as their bodies jerked forward.
"We're here."
The driver said as both he and one more servant leave their corresponding seats to open the doors for the women.
Hayasaka left the car breaking up to her perfect acting.
"Hey! Kaguya-chan! Let's see each other later, 'kay?"
Kaguya saw this and sighed. What an actor.
"Ok!"
She replied.
As Kaguya was walking just past the gates to the school's buildings, she noticed a hooded figure creep up from behind her. His figure reached all the way to her private space as he whispered.
"Be very careful."
Kaguya immediately turned her body to his direction, only to notice students casually walking around greeting each other. Her fist tightened as her heartbeat accelerated.
"I'm totally sorry. I'm working again today. I have to go straight to there."
A more bubbly, more menacing Hayasaka told her "friends". Playing with her hands while doing so.
"Again?" "You work too much." "Next time, definitely!"
Her "friends" replied in chorus. Readying to exit the school.
"Yeah, okay!" She said. Finishing up her act before reverting back to her original self.
"It's time. Kaguya-sama."
She glanced back. Queueing the entrance of her master.
"Did you track the rascal's location?"
She asked with an obviously annoyed tone.
"Yes. He's being followed at the moment."
She replied. Reaching up to her phone in her pockets as she reveals a radar.
"Good."
At an alleyway just around Shuuchin. There's a dark passage that could lead to an empty lot with only a vending machine residing in it. There, Kai Hayasaka stands, drinking soft drinks as he leans on a broken wall.
"Hey, you there..."
He stopped abruptly, throwing the tin can on his hands to a location where a suited man covertly hides.
"We can stop the game now."
He spoke loudly. Popping all of his fingers as it makes crunching sounds that echoed all over the place.
Without a warning, 7 suited men raced to him on all sides and directions. Some of them armed with batons or tasers, ready to strike, but...
Carefully observing his surroundings, Kai raised his hands as he swiftly avoided the first round of attack. Focusing primarily on dodging their strikes. As if he's mocking them, he slaps a part of their body as he dodges their attacks. Some even get a flick of his fingers.
'Too slow.'
Soon, more men rushed to him and he broke out running. Scaling a 1-foot thick wall and climbing through it. A lot of them are trying to pull his feet back on the ground but instead, they end up either being kicked or stomped. Despite his age, his skills are visibly more honed than all of the full grown men assaulting him. Resulting in a 1 sided fight.
Not even 3 minutes later and even more came. But instead of coming closer to apprehend him, they blocked his entrance and slowly circled him over. Not leaving any way of escape.
He jumped back down the wall and confronted some of them head-on. He picked up a baton and took down the daring servants that attacked him solo. Leaving them crawling on the ground due to the accurately pointed strikes that either hit their stomachs, their diaphragm, or their livers.
Spreading out as they let someone enter, Kai tilted his head as he watches the challenger enter the ring. It was a girl. She has a nice body with blonde hair and blue eyes. Perfectly like his.
'A Hayasaka?'
She reached to the inside of her clothes, revealing a baton. She then assumed a fighting stance as she rushed to him.
"Oh...-"
She attacked. And it was better than the rest. Losing ground as he evades her attacks. He bobbed and weaved to dodge an attack that was meant for his head. Going under it, he ran back to the center of the alleyway and assumed his stance.
She attacked again. But this time, he fought back. Fluidly parrying her baton as he weaves it to his side, he spun his whole body, creating enough inertia for a decisive attack. Aggressively swinging his baton, he realized that his enemy's not there anymore. But instead, she's behind him, poking her baton to his neck, ready to press a button.
He got startled and immediately twisted his body, unleashing a lethal spinning heel kick aimed for her head. It could've been enough to kill her. But...
"That's enough."
It's the Main House's head butler.
The old man shoves everyone else around to create his way as they helplessly get thrown to the ground. Looking at it, the shock was visible to each of the servants' expressions as they were pushed aside by a seemingly fragile man.
"What is the meaning of this? Jin-san?"
Kaguya retorted. Making her own way through the sea of servants that are blocking the whole area.
Jin revealed the inside of his coat. And it revealed a paper.
"This is Gan'an-sama's...royal decree if you will."
He stated. Looking at everyone, their tense postures slowly loosened.
" I'll begin. "The Shinomiyas has been a name of power for over 3 centuries. That is a fact known by nearly everyone that is involved in the Shinomiya Zaibatsu business. Whether of position, or not. During this time, the Hayasakas has and still is serving the Shinomiyas the longest. Using all they have for the prosperity of the latter. Recently, I have been noticing a spike on the Hayasakas' skills, whether it'd be at school, at the company or anywhere else. We all know that in the Shinomiya household, we gladly surrender our fates to those whose more skilled, Whoever they may be. So I felt like I really have to do this. The man in front of you, one that should've beaten a fraction of the Shinomiya's force right about now, is Hayasaka Kai. He's a person that grew under my supervision, so I have deemed him worthy. No, not worthy of Mjolnir, but worthy of inheriting the Shinomiya's power..."
Hearing the still-not-finished speech, Kaguya's eyes enlarged. Looking at her servant's direction right after.
"So, I have a proposal to make. I am aware of my own daughter's achievements, she's my daughter after all. And that means I'm aware of your position to her school too! Her position of being no.2 to her grade and that disappoints me. Going back to my proposal, I have given the Hayasakas to prove themselves, to finally be in the spotlight, TO DOMINATE! Like they always did for their masters. So I'm enrolling Hayasaka Kai and giving him the opportunity to remove my petty excuse of a daughter of her crown. And it's going to happen on the mid exams. IF my daughter somehow fell short on besting my guy right there, her inheritance, her rights as a Shinomiya, and her home will be taken away from her. And it'll be given to more capable hands. Hayasaka Ai is also given this opportunity." And that ends it."
Kaguya felt dizzy. Her whole body trembling as her mind starts to shut down.
"Hayasaka..."
She glanced to her servant's direction. But sadly she wasn't there. Scanning her surroundings she saw her talking to the butler along with what seems like Hayasaka Kai.
Hayasaka Kai then turned his head to her and grinned mysteriously. That sent chills down her spine as her legs felt weak. She supported herself by holding onto the wall she's near while watching her legs shake. Eventually collapsing.
She stomped the ground in annoyance. She has no time to waste on this, if she has free time then it's best used to study. She was suddenly given an opponent that her father chose himself that it's not giving him time to think. If her power-hungry father had recognized someone worthy to be adopted as a Shinomiya, then who knows how capable that person is?
She took her time to stand back up as she was approached by her blonde servant. Supporting her into the car.
She took a glance at her but Hayasaka didn't even flinch. Only whispering the words;
"Kaguya-sama. I'm sorry."
Miyuki Shirogane. After patrolling the school, part of his duty as the student council president, he noticed an odd wave of students crumpling to one place like moth to a flame.
He wondered what the cause could be so he hurried and checked himself. Some students noticed him and scrammed, but a majority stayed and some even took pictures.
'It's the test results, huh...'
Instinctively looking all the way up, as he had always done before, he noticed a name that wasn't his.
"That's odd. And cool!"
He whispered. Scrolling his eyes down, he found his name on the 2nd spot, with his beloved's just under his.
Seeing this made him wonder whose name was above his, so he checked
"Hayasaka Kai, Hayasaka Ai, tied on no.1?!"
He was shocked, just as much as he was impressed. Well, however good you are, there's always someone more talented than you, right? So he decided to just work harder next time. One that made his blood pump harder as he started getting motivated.
"Kaguya-sama, Kaguya-sama!"
Hearing those words, he suddenly turned around. Trying to find its source. Just a moment later, he found some people crowded on one spot, he excused himself through it and found Kaguya fainted.
He gritted his teeth and thought;
'Shit!'
JUST LIKE IN THE MANGA LOL! EVERYONE KNEW KASHIWAGI'S BOYFRIEND BUT NOBODY KNEW HIS NAME! EVEN LMAO!
RIP Tsubasa
