Disclaimer: I own nothing about Stargate SG1. I also borrowed something from Doctor Who which I also do not own. Constructive criticism is always extremely helpful to me. Enjoy! :)
It was a " routine " mission. Or at least that's what General Hammond said at the briefing. Carter and Daniel explained how it was an "uninhibited" planet. Of course they wouldn't run into anything unusual. Because when you're SG1 all your missions go according to plan every single time.
"Hello. I'm the Doctor."
... Yep, nothing unexpected at all here. To be fair though, it had started off pretty "normal".
*Flashback*
..and you see that's very unusual because given the historical precedent around that time it is extremely unlikely but I suppose you if you figure in the fact that these people were accustomed to..."
*aand flashback a little further ahead*
"I don't think so Sir. I mean given the amount of..."
*and a bit more*
"Indeed."
*You get the point.*
Daniel was lecturing Tealc about some ancient culture or other. Tealc would politely incline his head and occasionally say "indeed" so Daniel knew he was listening. Carter was talking to me I think, but I wasn't listening to what she was saying. I probably wouldn't have understood it anyways, but something else was bothering me.
Something was about to happen, I could feel it. This was a routine mission and nothing ever went "routine" with us. It was one thing I could garunetee to happen for sure. We had been walking for about an hour and I was ready to call quits and head back to the 'Gate when I heard it. At first I thought it was just my imagination. I told myself it was just the wind and I was just being paranoid because it was a "routine" mission. But then it came again.
"..the idea is-"
"Sshh! Did you hear that?"
My team fell silent. And there it came again. It was an interesting sound, like a sort of a wheezing sound but more than that. I signaled for my team to follow me towards the sound. We cautiously crept forward getting closer to whatever was making that sound. And we saw it.
I've seen some really unbelievable and crazy things since joining the Stargate program. So much so that I was beginning to doubt if I would ever be surprised again. But everything I've ever seen...this...this topped the list in the "unbelievable" category. From Carter's face I could tell she was thinking the same thing (but the first time she saw the Tokra's tunnel crystals still topped it for her!).
A blue box stood in front of us, wheezing in and out until finally it stopped and became completely solid. It only took seconds before a man popped out of this box. He looked surprised for a moment but then it went away.
"Oh. Hello! I'm the Doctor."
...and that was that. We got in trouble, we fixed it, SG1 gained an ally, and more importantly, I was right. We never had a normal mission. But then again, condition normal.
A/N If you're unfamiliar with Doctor Who: The blue box is actually a time machine that can go anywhere in time and space. The man is an alien who looks human. He owns the time machine and calls himself "The Doctor".
I'd love to know what you thought of this! I don't usually write stuff like this, so helpful criticism is appreciated! Thanks for reading. :) ~
