Loki's Nightmare
Loki's POV
The little witch had been playing with all of our minds. I had seen it. Thor seemed off. His movements… slow. I look around for her, yet she is nowhere to be seen. As usual. Before I can react, I feel a power at my head. Similar to my own. It all fades to black before I see her. Nat. She's laying there. In her suit. Her head turned towards me. Her green eyes were dead. Just… dead. Blood had pooled out from her stomach, seeping slowly to the floor. I scramble to her quickly and slowly turn her head to me. She stares at me with those eyes of hers. She's barely breathing.
"Natasha?" I call her name softly, hoping it'll bring her back. "Natasha…" I stroke down her cheek and she starts to cough violently, a little stream of blood escaping from her mouth. She looks up at me and laughs a little.
"I told you… Didn't I?" More blood dribbles out of her mouth as she settles down into the rubble slowly. "I told you she'd kill me." She closed her eyes in pain and let a breath escape from her lips.
"No… Natasha you're stronger than this! You're not dead…" I whisper and pull her into my arms. "I need you." 'For Ragnorok.' I think to myself and pull her closer to my body. "Nat…" Over my shoulder, I hear a small cry. It could only be her… I press my hand to Nat's stomach and sighs. It is. She well and truly had killed her mother. Almost. I slowly place Nat down and go to face the little infant. She was powerful. Very powerful. But before I could move, Natasha gripped my hand and pulled me down to her.
"This is your entire fault…" She whispers to me. "You're the one who did this to me. You put her in me. You don't even care…" I stare down at the woman I love. The one I wanted forever. To be by my side as we ruled over the universe. "I hope she kills you. Because… You failed me." She hisses before slowly closing her eyes again. "Until death do us part huh? Thought I was gonna live forever?" She laughs a little more and coughs up more blood. The sight is sickening. But I couldn't take my eyes off my wife. She belonged to me… How could I lose her? Her breathing stopped and I watched her, before dropping back to my knees and pulling her into my chest as I let my tears fall into her hair. She was well and truly gone. 'No… No Loki you know this isn't real. Natasha isn't dead. She's back at Asgard. Awaiting your arrival home… Come on damnit! It's not real!' I snap out of it and let her drop to the floor, a sickening crunch but I don't flinch. I look at the baby and lift it up carefully. "Freja… What have you done?" I mumble and strokes through her little tuff of Natasha's red curly hair. "You've gone and killed your mother." I watch her. She just looks at me and smiles. She doesn't know. It's not her fault. So I couldn't exactly blame her. 'LOKI! IT'S NOT REAL WAKE UP!' I can hear someone shouting but I can't figure out where it's coming from. Before too long I see lights all around me. Thor is gripping my shirt and looking straight into my eyes. I look down at my hands, no blood. No baby… Nat was safe.
"I can't let her get hurt…" I whisper to Thor before getting to my feet with his help and glaring towards the castle. "She's my responsibility now."
