Dangerously Attracted To You

Prologue

Dumbledore sat back in his desk, staring blankly into the abandoned-looking fireplace. All was silent at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and excluding Albus' rather chilly, cluttered office, all was dark as well. The ticking of a muggle clock rang through the hallowed walls as Fawkes perched on his shoulder and nipped at his cheek.

"Patience, Fawkes." The bird cooed softly into the night air. Dumbledore chuckled, popping another lemon drop into his mouth and reclined back into his chair. His eyes hovered for a bit at the friendly phoenix before they moved again, finding their way back to the gray, stone entrance.

The green flames lit up for a moment, blaring in intensity. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley soon stumbled out with soot-covered clothes and worried expressions.

"Right on time. Please, sit." He gestured to the two seats in front of his desk and they sat down, hands tightly entwined. Dumbledore smiled, waving his hand. The candles around his office instantly lightened up the room.

"Albus, what is going on?" asked Mrs. Weasley, who now looked on the verge of tears.

"Ah, Molly," He paused, offering her a lemon drop which she politely declined. "Everything is as it should be for now. Remus should arrive soon; your daughter as well."

She shook her head in disbelief and frowned. "Has anything happened to her?"

"No, but I do have something of great importance that needs to be said."

"But why is Ginny involved?" asked Mrs. Weasley as she grasped her husband's hand in a tighter grip.

"Soon, Molly." The room lapsed into silence, the ticking of the clock louder than ever before. Mrs. Weasley fiddled with her thumb, and bit on the nail until it was down to the skin. Soft tears fell down her face. She couldn't understand why her daughter was a part of this midnight-emergency conversation.

Dumbledore looked up in recognition, waiting silently. The door to the room opened and Remus came in; Ginny and Draco Malfoy in tow. Ginny looked slightly confused. She was still in her pajamas, and she rubbed at her swollen eyes, trying to rid them of fatigue. Her mother pulled her into a bone-crushing hug. Draco just looked irritated. He glanced at Dumbledore and scowled.

"I'm sorry it is so late, but this is very important." said Dumbledore. "And I've even sorrier to say that these two students are in very grave danger."

Arthur Weasley slammed his fist into the desk. "Explain yourself!" The occupants of the room looked on with surprise.

"Draco," He turned toward the young boy standing at the side of his desk. "You should know already why you are in danger."

He then turned to the Weasley's. "Ginny, you had the diary."

Ginny grimaced, anger burning in her eyes. "What does that have to do with anything!"

"When you were possessed by Tom Riddle, he put part of himself into you. His older self now realizes that this was a mistake. He gave you information he shouldn't have."

"I don't understand." said Ginny.

"You are a threat to him, and his army. You have tools that could help destroy him." Molly gasped, pulling Ginny into a more painful hug. Arthur stood up before pacing around the room, mumbling to himself furiously.

"What are you trying to say?" asked Draco.

"You are two of three who are in the gravest danger; therefore, we need to protect you the most."

Ginny's eyebrows creased in confusion. "Three?"

"You, Draco, and Harry."
