A/N: This poem is set before The Last Olympian. Enjoy!

There once was a deserted island called Ogygia.

The island was filled with beautiful and exotic flowers,

Tall trees with green leaves that were delicately blown in the soft wind like soft feathers,

And animals, big, small, furry and feathery,

Were also found on the island.

But no humans could be found there,

No one to destroy the beautiful resources on the island.

Except for this young girl.

In the myths, she was portrayed as an ill hearted goddess.

But she actually had a kind and broken heart.

Her names was Calypso.

Everyday, she would sit alone in her garden,

Thinking about the outside world.

Once in a while, Hermes would come and tell her facts and tales.

She would be surprised, sad, curious, and impressed.

Sometimes, she would envy the people,

And break down crying.

The Fates were very cruel.

They would wash up a hero on her shores,

Only to make her sad and lonely again.

This...

Is the Island of Calypso.
