Civilization as we OWN It

By: Scarlet

Have you ever stopped to think,

In a busy street side corner?

Have you ever thought to speak,

During a talk with a crying mourner?

No, that's not the way we do things.

That's not the way we think.

That's not the way cry,

When we stare down in our sink.

We have to be civilized, they say.

We have to follow the rules.

But when I look at it another way,

It all seems kind of cruel.

At funerals we cry and say were sorry,

At banquets we don't burp,

But aren't we all family here?

You mean I can't even slurp?

What's wrong with the world today?

Abusing the earth,

Even littering in Hudson Bay!

Do you call that civilized?

Do you think that's right?

We follow these rules and look!

We fight and bite with all our might!

Why don't we take a stand and follow our dreams?

Not to care how we even look,

No more anti-aging creams!

WE could work together to see what we want!

Then make a more efficient plot.

Stop bullying, stop rules,

Stop the flow of pollution and,

The death of animals,

In our own swimming pools.

It's the little things that count.

The little things that the make a difference.

It's the little things that can change the world,

In under a couple of minutes.
