Prologue

Tears streamed from Hinata's eyes as she sprawled on the floor in a bruised, battered heap. Hiashi stood above her, glaring at her with a menacing, cold glare. He turned away from his oldest daughter, leaving her lying on the floor with her misery. He paused at the doorway, glancing at her with a disapproving and malicious glare.

"The Hyuga Heiress should never be this weak," he coldly scolded before leaving Hinata in the silent darkness. She wept silently with tears streaming down her face and low hiccups. Why can't I ever be good enough for him? She thought, her hair covering her face as she wept, her tears hitting the floor.

She gritted her teeth and shakily got up. She stumbled and grabbed a rag, cleaning up her blood, the same essence that stained the floor countless of times. She scrubbed the floor clean before finally walking to her room, limping like a wounded animal.

She limped past bystanders who keep their distance for fear of the punishment brought on by the elders. She didn't mind though, she didn't want to ask for their help. She hated looking weak, she just wished that they wouldn't fear her; all she wanted peace and happiness between the main house and branch house. Like a normal family, she thought as she entered her room.

After arriving to her room, she went in and closed the door silently behind her. The light illuminated the soft purple of her room and the wooden floor felt cool on her feet. A simple futon rested on the floor with everything neatly folded to the side.

She slowly limped to her bathroom and flicked on the light, staring at her reflection in the mirror on the wall. Staring back at her was Hinata's reflection, bruised and cut up. Her tiny frail 13 year old body was aching from the past trainings. There were bruises littering her pale skin and cuts marring her arms, legs and neck. There was a cut that rested on her lip and her face was a bit swollen from a bruise that marked her cheek.

She could feel that he was losing hope in her, his punches became more half hearted and the trainings with Hanabi grew more frequent. She didn't mind though, all she wanted was his approval. She never wanted the heiress title, she just wanted for her father to notice her, for people to see her as something other than weak. She wanted to be better and protect her friends. Like Naruto…, Hinata thought, looking at her many cuts and bruises.

She took a shower and patched up her cuts, applying her special healing ointment and getting dressed in her usual garments before slipping out in the middle of night. She passed buildings, townsfolk, trees and bushes, heading to her usual spot at the waterfall. She sighed as she finally relaxed at the waterfall, listening in order to watch out for anyone who could possibly be peeping before finally taking off her clothes and trained.

"One day, I'll be just as good as Naruto-kun," she said, standing on the water, focusing her chakra to her feet, "I'll be able to fight alongside him one day. Until then, I must get stronger," she said, preparing her stance, slowly beginning her deadly seductive dance.

Meanwhile...

"Get out of here freak!" Boys shouted as they threw rocks at a certain Aburame. They sneered and gave the boy dirty looks, hoping to intimidate the bug infested Aburame, who didn't flinch at any of their intimidating advances. He continued on his way, his eyes focused on the road ahead of him.

He merely walked by, ignoring the boys. He was used to it. He was always used to people giving him dirty looks and disgust for it was one of the many curses of being an Aburame, who everyone considered a creepy bug infested bunch of freaks. He received the same treatment at one point from each of his friends.

"Hmph, freak," muttered the leader of the boys, suddenly looking at the ground only to find a helpless crawling beetle. He sneered and raised his food to crush it. His foot was mere inches away from the bug when it was suddenly stopped by a sudden push. The boy fell over, the defender of the poor beetle revealed it to be the ever so quiet Aburame.

"Be careful, you wouldn't want to step on it," he muttered, picking up the lone beetle and letting it crawl up into his sleeve. The boys watched in a mixture of horror and disgust as they noticed it move around the exposed parts of his body.

"Ah! Gross! Let's get out of here!" they shouted in fear, running, possibly, to their mothers who will most likely scold them for even going near the Aburame's existence. Shino just shrugged and held the beetle on his finger, soothing it from the fear it felt. He continued going to his destination with the tiny companion on his finger.

Shino was always stuck in his own world. He never quite saw anybody or anything. He watched the world with an analytical mind, using bits to use as info on that person. He analyzed and calculated different things, his mind work like a robot and he bottled up his feelings, never expressing anything except a slight frustration every once in a while when people grated on his nerves or he didn't get what he wanted.

He finally arrived at his home and went through the intimidating gates that shielded them from the world. Behind the gates was a paradise no one expected. There was an assortment of wild flowers and plant life, ranging from the smallest of plants to the gigantic of trees. It was literally a playground for bugs, for if you brush a single leaf on these plants, an assortment of bugs will fly out into the open before they find another place to rest on.

He walked on the walkway, setting the beetle upon a leaf which it proceeded to crawl upon. Upon his search of a home for the beetle, he found a small, fragile cocoon on a leaf. He smiled and studied it, fascinated by his discovery. He took out a small box and a kunai from within his pocket, carefully approaching the cocoon.

He carefully trimmed the plant and took the leaf that held the precious shell and placed it inside the box gently, careful not to disturb the creature within it. He put his kunai in the pack he always carried and took the box within the mysterious Aburame confines known as his home.

His kikkaichu rolled around, anxious to go inside the special chakra cases that they go within after the day was done. Shino rolled his eyes and smirked at his kikkaichu's childish actions, lovingly whispering that they needed to be patient. He walked upstairs and headed straight to his room, smiling at their anxiousness. He paused before his door, noticing a note on the wooden entrance.

"So he went on another mission," he said, looking at the note he got from his father. He sighed and went into his room, his kikkaichu flying out of him in a flash and going inside their cages. He chuckled at their childish antics and placed the box on the desk, taking off the lid. He placed his heating lamp next to it and flipped it on and studied the cocoon, taking off his glasses to let his unique eyes study it.

His face lit up as the 13 year old grabbed a nearby book that spoke of what type of insect it is. He furiously studied the book, not caring that he was alone within an empty home. His life was always lonely, ever since he turned 5.

His mother had run out on his family when Shino was 5, not being able to take the fact that she was stuck in a home full of freaks. The said child watched her taking all of her things along with some cash. Throughout the whole ordeal, his mother never once looked his Shino's eyes and at the last minute, looked back at the young boy, saying goodbye and to be a good boy while she was away.

He waited on the stairs, thinking she was going to come home, but she never did, she truly left for good. Thankfully Shibi, his dad, came back home that day or the little child wouldn't have known what to do on his time alone. Shibi was heartbroken, but, instead of wallowing on his pain, he focused on taking care of Shino until he was a little mature and knew how to cook and fend for himself.

Shino finally reached the page on the insect within the cocoon was and studied the section carefully. He made notes on what type of food it will eat and many other vital important features of the insect before finally laying on his bed. He stared at the wall as he curled into a ball, cold and alone as he always was.
