The silver razor cut into the unsuspecting man's throat before the man was dropped down.
Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, quickly wiped a rag over the blade until it was shiny and ready for another killing.
The barber looked down at the silver of his razor. He could see his reflection on it.
He looked...dull. Nothing at all like the lively man, he used to be. He remembered that day he was dragged away from Lucy and Johanna. That day he was sentenced to prison for a crime that he did not commit. That day he saw the last gleam of sunlight before it was permanently erased from his life.
Fifteen years ago, his family was ripped away from him.
Family.
Family.
Every man had that. Be it, not exactly a family, every man had it.
Except for him, of course.
Mrs. Lovett, she doesn't count. He doesn't care for her, as family should. But he didn't completely hate her.
And, uh, Toby. He doesn't count neither. That little brat. Suspecting things, he shouldn't.
Family.
Family.
Family.
He wondered again. Was Johanna even his family anymore? She was the daughter of Benjamin Barker and Lucy. He wasn't Benjamin anymore. Then, that thought made him think. Was Lucy still his wife? Was she truly? She married Benjamin and he wasn't Benjamin.
Well, not anymore.
All he wanted was to see his family again. The same one that was ripped away from him, fifteen years ago or at least, a member that was normal. Someone...someone who might be able to bring Benjamin back...
He shook his head, trying to erase the thought from his mind as the bell rang.
It signalled that another customer had come in. He turned around with a practiced, fake smile. He blinked a few times before the smile disappeared. The wind had blown the door open, which was odd.
He heard a few scratching sounds behind his head and turned around. Nothing. That was odd.
He felt his throat dry up. He noticed his vision blurred. He stepped a few steps back as the world shook lightly.
Black spots dotted his vision before he felt himself slipping out of consciousness.
