Prologue: That Butler, Awakened

Ah, this place, this cold dark place where a red light was glowing and the body of a small one shivering. The red light? That was but a pentagram. The little one? Poor thing, she's suffered so much, she's had enough. Given up completely.
The red light from the pentagram had darken, now another's body was forming. The other, the demon, placed before the girl had risen up from her kneeling position. Looking down at the little one, hues glowing a bright red, for all demon's were heartless, inside and out. But, ah, not this one. The child, whose tears have dried, feet muddy and clothes wet, hugged the woman's legs tight, crying out once more from the pain in her chest. The demon, confused at which why this child would cling to her in such a way, a brow cocked up.
"What are you doing?"
Nothing heard from the young one's mouth but cries of woe and tears streaming down, hugging her legs tighter.
The woman with red eyes had looked around her surroundings, seeing tattered clothing and nothing but some ripped bed sheets on the child's bed, she grabbed a long blouse and a plain skirt. Clothes now on her body, she knelt down to the girl, holding her back by her shoulders.
"What did you summon me for?"
The little one, Kit, dried her soaked eyes and sniffled. "M-mummy..."
What? 'Mummy'? Did she think the demon was her mother? Well, that was typical of a child who had lost so much.
"Mummy, mummy...!" Kit was now desperate, gripping the other's blouse shakily, as were her legs, she was so nervous she could barely stand. The demon, her name was Saki, oh how she could see her own reflection in the young girl, for she was hurt just as much, if not worse. Her blackened heart could not stand seeing the child who wanted nothing but love and affection, be so ignored, so beaten down because she was never good enough for anything.
"M-my..." Kit had laid a hand over her chest, gripping her battered, messy shirt shakily. "My chest...it hurts...so much..." She buried her head in the other's chest.
"..." Quiet was the demon, a hand laid softly upon the child's head, stroking her hair. A soft tone given to the little one's ear, "I'll be your Mummy..."
Surprise and excitement filled Kit's mind, the beat from her chest was a deep one, ringing in her ears as she looked up at Saki. Eyes now wide, tears abruptly stopped, "R-really...?" She questioned, this couldn't be true, yet she was so happy to hear those words.
The older one nodded, laying a bare hand on the toddler's chest, "But first..." A light glowing from her hand, a sign now baring onto Kit's chest, it was searing even. Saki had looked away, for this would be too much for a child's body, hearing her shrieks made her regret doing this. But if she was not given a purpose, death would come at the little one and it would be all her fault. She would not live with that burden on her.
Her screams were immense but Kit had held this in, for having a mother meant the world to her. As the woman pulled her hand back she stood up, holding a hand out to the girl, a name now given to Kit,
"Saki."
Kit smiled happily, now but only tears of joy leaving her eyes. Taking a hold of Saki's hand tightly, she smiled even brighter. "Mummy..."
Finally, her chest would now beat full of joy instead of pain.
