Escape Pirates
Chapter 1
"Soraaaa!" a familiar voice rang through the young boy's ears.
"Hang on; I've almost nailed this down!" Sora shouts as he hears footsteps. He looks up to a cute auburn-haired girl smiling back at him.
"You don't have to yell, silly, I'm right here," she teases, "I made some lemonade for you, and Riku should be back soon with papou fruits he found earlier. Gosh, you've been working on the boat all day!" She kneels beside him and looks down at the sandy beach, rubbing her fingers through the sand. Her smile fades quickly.
"It's almost time, Sora…," the girl, Kairi, mumbles. Sora puts the hammer down and sits next to his friend. It stays quiet for a moment.
The boy turns his head to Kairi. "The new year?" he asks. She nods slowly with a frown upon her face.
"Hey! You two weren't messin around were you?" a boy walks up joking. He punches Sora on the shoulder and laughs.
Kairi lays her hand over her mouth and giggles, "Did you get our fruit, Riku?"
Riku smirks, "I thought we could do something more entertaining. You've gotta wait 'til later though!"
"Damn it, Riku!" Sora clenches his fist, laughing.
Later that night
"Riku, it's beautiful!" Kairi shouts with glee. The group gazes at the sunset from a bent tree Riku found earlier that day.
Sora chomps down his last bite of papou fruit. "Mmmmmm, Riku that was great! Thanks!"
"No prob, Sora."
Midnight
"Kairi, grab my hand! I'll save you!" Sora yells violently, but Kairi's hand slips through and she's pulled away into the darkness.
Sora wakes up screaming and punching his bed. Then he gasps and realizes it was only a dream. He clutches his bed sheets and whispers, "I swear to you Kairi that I'll do whatever it takes to save you from your fate."
