i gave myself around fifty words per character for some good old headcanon/introspective on what the others think of yumi. i'm rusty of what i know about code lyoko, so if it seems off, i'm sorry.

Ulrich
He admired her; she was practically perfection in his eyes. She was lovely, talented, shared similar interests and the same thought process. He was ecstatic when their feelings for mutual, though it couldn't stay that way forever. But they weren't all that right for each other anyway. Ulrich sometimes wished they were, though.
.
Jeremie
Strange how they understood each other, like long lost siblings. Laughing at the same jokes, on the same level, truly backing up each other. He liked having an older friend, wiser than many, and she knew exactly what to say and when to say it. He loved her, in a way. She loved him, too, though.
.
Odd
They teased each other endlessly, the amount of snark they threw at each other, they fed off of, too. Sarcasm dripped from every other sentence and it was like they weren't really friends, but they were closer than the others much of the time. A comeback for every breath they breathed.
.
Aelita
The girls' friendship was like an experiment. Yumi didn't have many female friends, and Aelita was aware of this, and at the same time, Aelita didn't know how to relate to other girls either. But the experiment turned out fine; they were inseparable and she liked the feeling of being protected by the older girl.
.
William
It was love, but it wasn't, either. A deep attraction that felt off, and even if he tried to change that, it wasn't possible. She was always moving forward, ahead of him until she was out of sight. Unrequited love is what they called it, but he thinks it can't be called that if he knew that even for a second, she loved him back.
.
Sissi
On some occasions, she thinks they would have been close, like friends of something, or at the least, she could have respected her wholeheartedly. She never had seen Yumi as a bad person, at least. But too bad there was Ulrich, and too bad that Ulrich mattered a lot more than a viable friendship.
.
Yumi
She was never perfect. She was too closed off to love properly. She probably never loved herself. The truth of the matter is that even if she didn't, and even if her head is racked with the sounds of arguments late at night, or the stress of keeping a team together, keeping her own self together, that there were people who still loved her out there.
