Layton stared at the empty wall in front of him. Deep in thought he did not even see his young apprentice walk in "Professah?" Luke said nervously "Professah? Are you okay?" Layton turned around to see Luke and simply smiled and said "I'm fine my boy, I just have things on my mind". These weren't things like 'what am I having for tea tonight?' or 'what is the answer to this puzzle?', he was thinking about where Descole had been all these years and was he still alive but mostly he was thinking about his dead girlfriend, Clair.
There was knock on the door. Both Luke and Layton went to the door, upon answering they found a pizza man. "Here's your pepperoni pizza, which will be £6.50" the pizza man said with a kind smile "Oh, yay pizza" Luke said jumping up and down before stopping as he knew too well that he must be a gentlemen. "Come on in" Layton said returning the kind smile… Then he locked the door. "Eh… Why did you lock the door sir?" asked the pizza guy uncomfortably. Layton looked at him straight in the eyes and said "You know why, Descole!"
The 'pizza guy' smiled whereas Luke just stood there confused as the cape and hat came out of nowhere. "Tell me Layton, how did you know this time?" Descole asked.
"Simple, there is no pizza place for an hour's drive and considering there was no van parked outside I figured it must be a scam and as I could not think why don Paulo would do this it must have been you" Layton said pointing the finger at him.
"Well done Layton, another puzzle solved" Descole said clapping.
"Now tell me, why are you here?" Layton asked.
"I came to tell you to meet at the university tomorrow at noon exactly, Don't be late" he said. And with that he escaped through the window.
Luke looked back from the window to his mentor "are you going to go?" he asked curiously.
"I suppose I have to, it might be dangerous so I'm going to ask you to stay behind." Layton said tilting his top hat . "No way professah! I'm coming too!" Luke shouted frustrated.
"very well Luke, be careful though"
