This is just going to be a series of one-shots on Accidental Magic Hermione did before discovering that she was a witch. There won't be a ton and I won't update often, just when ever I get an idea. If you have an idea you want for me to write about I would love to hear it :)
Read and Review, please!
"What do you think you're doing?!" I stared down at my, very upset, father.
"Umm... I'm going to fly off the roof." I said, smiling cheerfully at him. He looked kind of funny right then, his eyes got really wide and his face went red.
"Sweetie you can't fly, okay? Little girls don't fly." That wiped the smile off my face pretty quickly.
"Why not daddy? You tell me I'm your 'little angel' and don't angels fly?
He shook his head very quickly. "It's a nickname," he said. "You can't really fly, alright?"
I pouted. "So you're saying I'm not a angel."
"Umm... that's not the point here at the moment love," he said. "How did you get up there in the first place."
I shrugged. "I climbed up on the ladder. It fell when I was all the way up though." I pointed to where I had set it.
He sighed and his eyes flicked down, to look at the ladder probably. He looked back up at me and sighed again. "Do you think you could sit still for a minute while get you down? It shouldn't take long."
I pouted but started to comply all the same. Unfortunately I moved my feet and wrong and before I know it I'm tumbling down the roof. "Dad! Daddy help!" I screamed.
I hear a panicked "Hermione!" and then, suddenly, there was nothing supporting my back and I was falling quite quickly. Those five short seconds felt like hours as my gut wrenched. But then... I felt very light, weightless even. It had to be the most wonderful feeling in the world.
It ended quickly, almost to quickly, and I felt myself landed softly in my fathers arms.
"Hermione!? Mia are you alright?"
"I'm fine." I mumble opening my eyes looking at him. He had an interesting mixture of shook and worry on his face. "What happened, daddy?"
"You were and falling and then..." he shook his head slowly, looking very confused. "Then all of the sudden you slowed down and kind of gently floated down.
"Let's not tell mama bout this, kay baby?" I nod and snuggle into him as he carried me inside.
That day, when I was only four years old, I learned three things that I will never forget.
1: Daddy didn't always tell Mama everything.
2: I might actually be able to fly.
3: I learned that I was different. Very very different.
