She couldn't believe it! Why was she so stupid!? Why had she followed him!? *sighs* she thought whilst running blindly through the forest around her. She ran past camp but ignored the shouts of her companions and her adoptive son as she ran, they would understand what had happened and would let her have her space for a while.
'Stupid Kagome, why do you let yourself always get hurt like this' She thought as she ran 'You've known for years that you would never replace Kikyo! But why....why did i have to witness THAT!' she though tears running clear paths down her heart shaped face.
Now Kagome wasn't completely stupid as most would think, she did realise after 3 years of being in the feudal era that she would never be with Inuyasha the way she wanted to, but her school girl crush had turned to love and as always happens its hard to get over your first love especially when its not returned.
Its not like she could even go to Kouga anymore as he had mated to Ayame, and anyway she never did like him more than a friend, and she couldn't be with Hojo because the well had closed up after they defeated Naraku trapping her this side of the well, and she still had shards to find anyway.
She finally stopped after her lungs started to burn from crying and running so fast and she sat ungracefully on the cold forest floor not really caring where she landing or if she got dirty. Pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her head on them she cried her eyes out, letting out all the pent up emotions she had kept stored up over the years.
'STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!' she told herself over and over again not really listening to what was going on around her. It wasn't until she heard the rustle of fabric that she looked up from her silent punishment to see who was in front of her. Her eyes widened slightly in fear and then returned to normal to see that it was only Sesshomaru, and as blood thirsty as he usually was
She really didn't care if she died right now
He had become a lot less scary after helping them in the final battle with Naraku
Did she mention she just didn't care right now?
"Miko?" his baritone voice almost boomed in the dark, silent forest.
She smirked slightly as she looked deep into his eyes seeing something she never thought she would see, regardless of everything they had all been through he STILL couldn't remember her name.
She smiled for the first time that night, lighting up her whole face as she looked him dead in the eye, seeing the sparkle that she saw earlier she replied.
"My names Kagome"
