Chapter 1

Nikki:

So I sat here for a while thinking about how exactly I should start this. Alex, my best friend says I should probably start it the way muggles do. With Once Upon a Time, I promptly threw a book at her head. I'm pretty sure it was the most updated version of Hogwarts, a History. You know the one with the foreword written by Hermione Granger, the current Minister of Magic. If that doesn't give away WHEN I'm from, then let me just simply say that I'm the youngest living member of the Most Noble House of Black, excluding some members. My current friends are Scorpius Malfoy, Rose Weasley, James and Albus Potter, as well as the hard-headed Ravenclaw Alexandra Lopez, and the ever-loyal Hufflepuff Michael Crowley. You're probably wondering who I am, well I'm Nicole Madison Benedict-Blake. Long story short we changed the name from Black to Blake when we arrived in America. However after generations of living across the pond, my parents had an error in judgment, and I was born in Great Britain. I was born at St. Mungo's on September 19th, 2005. Since I was born in England, a connection to the Ancient House of Black caused my name to be placed on the acceptance list for Hogwarts, instead of the U.S. school Ilvermorny where my Grandfather is on the MACUSA Board of Education. That's what began my journey at Hogwarts.

Fast forward to the summer just before my 6th year. I was enjoying my day at Diagon Alley standing outside the Weasley's shop; Weasley's Wizard Wheezes or as I like to call it the Triple W. It was at that moment I heard a harrowing screech ring out through the surrounding area in some resemblance to my name, before I was forcefully tackled to the ground, by a ragtag Ravenclaw. More commonly known as my best friend Alex. "What the hell Alex, I swear to God even if it's only been a week you act like it's been a lifetime" I playfully scorn.

"It might as might as well have been a lifetime, I spent all summer dealing with my Redcap of a step-monster," Alex said through gritted teeth and a scowl on her face. "On a brighter note, I got play quidditch over the summer. "

"So, how's your hot brother?" I ask jokingly just to get a reaction out of Alex. I can see it immediately as her face scrunches up in disgust.

"He's way out of your league." Alex shot back a smirk quickly replacing her disgusted look. "Anyway's where's lover boy?"

"I wouldn't know I'm not his keeper any-"

"I didn't know you played for the Hufflepuff team." She said interrupting me.

"If I did, they would actually win their games."

"At least we have a better track record, than the Ravenclaws." Says a familiar male voice. We looked over and saw our Hufflepuff friend Michael Crowley. "Well if I'd known who you'd broken up with me for I would have been more okay with it."

I shoot him a look before Alex and I untangle ourselves and stand up. I don't know exactly why we broke up. Something about not knowing what the future holds. I don't know I stopped listening halfway through his speech and started thinking about these boots I found online. I see Alex and Michael say their hello's and the three of head down Diagon Alley to meet the rest of the gang.
