"Office Party honey gogo au"

At Least Something Good Came Out Of It

Why am I here? Gogo thought for the umpteenth time that night. What's the point? I should be at home, working on my bike. She grumbled to herself before taking a swig of her soda.

"Maybe you should, y'know, smile. Then people would come up to you and you wouldn't be so bored."

Gogo looked over to see Wasabi. "Maybe I want people to leave me alone."

"C'mon, make some friends! We're gonna be working beside a lot of these people for a while." He gestured around the room to where her new coworkers were mingling while music played from a radio on the other side of the room.

"I have friends. You. Tadashi. That's plenty." She drained the last of her drink from the can and tossed it in a nearby recycling bin.

Wasabi rolled his eyes. "That's two. No where near plenty."

Gogo huffed as she collapsed in a chair. "Can't you make yourself useful and get me food instead of bugging me?"

Wasabi raised an eyebrow. "And why can't you get it?"

"Because I'm being antisocial and there are people near the food," she deadpanned while slumping against the table.

A sigh escaped Wasabi. "Fine."

"Thanks. Just be careful around the wasabi."

"You know what, now I'm not getting you anything. That's just mean." He started to walk away, but she grabbed his arm.

" 'Sabi, sorry. Just... You know I don't like shit like this. This is... A whole lot of people I don't know all at once." She sat up a bit more and leaned her chin on the back of her hand. "When it's people you or Tadashi are introducing me to, fine. I know what's up with that. This is... different. And I don't like it."

Wasabi set a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I know, Go. But one or two new friends won't do too much damage. And whenever you need me, I'll be nearby, kay? Now I'm gonna go grab us some food. When I come back, we'll mingle."

Gogo sighed. "Yeah, okay…"

He patted her shoulder again before heading towards the refreshment table.

Gogo drew invisible designs on the table, mind focused on the next adjustment to her bike and not the approaching duo.

"Hey, Gogo," spoke a man's voice. "I want you to meet someone."

Brown eyes glanced up from her invisible schematics to see Tadashi approaching. Behind him, though, was who really caught Gogo's eye. She was taller than Tadashi by a decent bit and oh my god- those legs! Her hair was blond, down to her waist, and was held out of her eyes by a pink headband. And her smile was—wow!

Gogo realized it was a very good thing she had sat down. She could very well have been weak in the knees had she been standing.

Tadashi came to a halt with the mystery woman beside him. "Gogo, this is Honey Lemon. Honey, this is Gogo."

Somehow, Honey Lemon's smile grew. "Nice to meet you!" She had a soft little accent and wow Gogo was smitten.

Gogo couldn't help but smile a bit. Something about this girl's smile was infectious. "Uh… Hi."

"Mind if I sit?"

"Oh, uh, yeah. Go ahead." Gogo kicked a chair out enough for Honey to sit.

Tadashi grinned. It was a good sign. "You good, Gogo?"

"What? Oh, yeah." Her attention only lingered on him for a few sparse seconds before returning her attention to Honey. She didn't notice him leave.

Honey met eyes with Gogo. "So Tadashi said you're into engineering?"

"Yup. I do a lot of work with transportation and lowering friction. What, ah… What about you?"

"Chemistry!" She exclaimed happily. "I love causing chemical reactions and controlling them. I can change the density of almost any metal but still retain its strength!" She laughed a loud and leaned forward. "Isn't that great?"

Gogo's eyebrows raised. "Really? That's really awesome like… Okay, I know we just met but you could really help my latest bike. Any chance you're willing to join this project?" Gogo suddenly stumbled over her words. "I—wow, I'm sorry, that probably seemed really forward."

Honey giggled. Like, actually giggled.

"Not forward at all. I love a challenge." She pulled out her phone and took a minute to fuss about with it before handing it to Gogo. "Gimme your number."

Gogo blushed. It still seemed like she had been overly forward. But she still typed in her cell number on to Honey's very… pink phone.

"Okay, now come here." Honey motioned her closer. "I need a contact picture for you." Not waiting to see if Gogo would protest, Honey pulled her over and snapped a selfie with her. After which, she stood. "I'll be right back! I'm gonna grab a soda. And I'll text you so you've got my number."

Gogo was in a bit of a daze as she watched Honey walk away. Had that really just happened? Had that very attractive (also very tall) woman really just asked for her number?

Gogo's phone went off. She picked it up to see a text from a number she didn't recognize. But she knew who it was.

"you're cute ;)"

Looking up, Gogo was able to catch Honey's eye. That winking smiley face was much better to see in person.
