" Dear diary
So . I'm guessing you want an explanation of why I'm writing in you . All of these endless , Blank pages waiting to be filled with my woes of pain . I wish you the best of luck in keeping my secrets between us . Just me , the pen , and a bunch of papers bound with a metal spiral . My name is Jessie . I'm 17 , and I'm depressed . My step father beats me , My mother is never home , and My sister , Amy , hates my guts and has to make sure I know it too , by reminding me every day that I look nothing like her and mom . I have blonde hair and blue eyes . They have brown hair and green eyes . Their hair is naturally straight and gorgeous . My hair is a mess of curls and a pain in the ass to deal with . I'm shy and quiet , there's nothing you can see in them but beauty and an outgoing nature .
I had a boyfriend . But he cheated on me a few months ago with the president of the chastity club . Ironic right ? He fucked a girl who signed a pledge to keep her legs closed until marriage . Now everybody looks at me with humor or pity . Nothing more than someone who got screwed over by someone who said they loved them . I need to go … Moms calling me . Its one of her rare nights off
Jessie "
sighing , I close my notebook and look at the clock 6:32 . Not bad . I yawn , stretching my arms out , I begin my descent down the stairs . My breath catches in my throat when I see my mom , hangs on her scrub clad hips and an irritated look on her face . "yeah ?" I shift nervously . "Jessie . What are those ? I got a call from your counselor earlier " she nods to my arm , where a large bruise , fingerprints and a palm , had formed on my arm , neighbored by fresh cuts . " nothing …. " I sigh , already thinking about bolting out into the freezing downpour in the suburban Chicago neighborhoods . "Jess . If this is another plea for attention , just stop . I don't have the time for this " she snaps , Her brown hair falling in small flyaway hairs from her messy bun .
" great to know you don't have time to help your daughter get away from her mothers abusive boyfriend " I Snapped back . Her expression changed from anger , to shock , to hurt . " Why would you say he hits you . Do you want me to lose the man in my life ? " she sighed . I began backing away , Grabbing for the door handle before bolting out the front door , the rain falling in icy sheets on the street . Tears streaked down my pale face . I run what seems like forever before stopping to look at the street name .
" Hello . Are you lost ? " I jumped , whipping around to stare into a pair of gorgeous green eyes , covered by a black hood . I nodded . " its freezing out here . You don't even have a jacket . Come on " He rolled his eyes , motioning me forward , towards an apartment complex down the street . " my name is Drew . Yours ?" he beamed at me when we had safely reached the apartment that I assumed was his . " Jessie " I yawned . " Sleep on the couch . I'll take you home in the morning " His sentence barely pushed into my head before I had flopped down onto the couch , almost immediately falling asleep
