I watched, from the bottom of an ocean, the world slowly spinning itself into a state of paralysis. All of the people who play in the charlatan charade of parading and purging themselves from sobriety in order to see the world they're forbidden to know have now lost the keys to get back into their homes and themselves. They stumbled aimlessly into an abyss of constant sound, static, screaming. Until their physiology began melting into a constant stream of pitiless wavelengths, never able to grab onto anything, ricocheting infinitely until oblivion took them.
The sound of my phone ringing brought me out of the ocean and back into my bed. I didn't bother to answer it; I just let it ring away. When the ringing had finally stopped, I just continued looking at the ceiling, watching it remain motionless. The floor of my new room consists of boxes, my mattress, and an empty glass that once contained water. My mom and I moved here just two days ago; last night we finally got all of our boxes in the house and out of the truck. My mom's friend helped us, too. They went to take the rental truck back about an hour ago. They'll probably be gone for another three hours (we moved two hours away from our old town).
I decided to unpack some of my things and attempt to organize my room. I hadn't brought much, mainly because I didn't have much to be brought. I took probably a few shirts out of a box and hung them before getting tired of unpacking. After tripping on a box during my desperate attempt to flee the world of unpacking, I came to rest on the floor, face down. After which I got up and looked around to make sure no one saw, even though it wouldn't have been very plausible for anyone to see me. I rolled my eyes at myself and headed into the kitchen to make myself some brunch. Unfortunately, Mom hasn't obviously made visiting the grocery store a priority since we moved here. I ended up just sitting on the couch while reading the newspaper. Yes, some 16 year olds read the newspaper, too; but not many.
After becoming frustrated with the way my current game of Sudoku was heading, I decided to just read a book.
I just read until the day evaporated into a black night.
Tomorrow's my first day at my new school; hopefully it won't be terrible.
very short, yes. keep in mind that it's just a prologue.
here's the jist of the story (for clarity's sake):
sora has just moved. (the story will be through sora's point of view). this will, of course, be an alternate universe story (AU), meaning that i've just taken the characters and not the story of kingdom hearts.
let me know what you think.
