Wilf: [as the Doctor starts back toward the TARDIS] Oh, Doctor? What about you now? Who have you got? I mean, all those friends of yours.

Doctor: They've all got someone else. Still, that's fine. I'm fine.

Wilf: I'll watch out for you, son.

Doctor: [insistent] You can't ever tell her!

Wilf: No, no - but every night, Doctor, when it gets dark and the stars come out, I'll look up on her behalf. I'll look up at the sky, and think of you.

Doctor: Thank you.

Just moments ago, they were all happy. All happy and delighted and joyful. All packed into that police box. That wonderful police box called the TARDIS. It was like the old days again. All for one and one for all. And in that moment – that single moment – it seemed as if time itself was still and it would stay still forever and ever and ever and ever and never move. And that it would always be like that. A family. A nice, big, happy family. A family that the Doctor never really had.

And the Doctor knew. He wasn't a fool. He knew. He knew that he was truly alone now. Rose, his Rose, was in a parallel universe, living on with his other self. And though he was technically still with her, it still broke his heart the way that he, this pure Time Lord self, would never see the woman he loved again. And even though Mickey, Martha, Sarah Jane and even Captain Jack were still in this dimension. Even though they were within traveling distance, it would never be like the old days.

And he knew. Everything was not fine. But it had to be. For old time's sake.

And it broke his hearts. Both of them.

So... I have recently, totally, completely fallen in love with the Doctor Who series. Tell me, why does UK get all the good programs? I mean compared to majority of American programs (with the exception of House).... Yeah.

Anyway, what really got me was the Season 4 finale when the Doctor was all alone again. And me, who never cries during a show, felt like crying. So I wrote this oneshot/drabble thing taking place just moments after the Doctor gets into the TARDIS alone. My main problem: WHY'D THEY SEND ROSE OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE?! (Besides for plot and drama purposes.)

Also, anyone seen Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor? He kind of makes me feel uneasy about the continuation of the series.
