Author's Note: Lately I have honestly been feeling so happy. Corny, I know, but I kind of had to write something happy, there's too much angst out there!Each paragraph alternates P.O.V, starting with House. If you get lost, just look at the pronouns. Hope it's not too confuzzling. Enjoy!

She is so different now, he realizes. He is not even sure if he knows her now. She is no longer naïve and oversensitive. She is daring and confident. Her smile is brighter, her steps are lighter, she is happier. She is free. For some reason, this hurts him. Did he really weigh her down that much?

She is free now. No longer a caterpillar, striving for a hunger she cannot satisfy, but a butterfly, free. There is no longer over complicated over thinking. She just simply is, and that makes it all better. Still, there are times when she yearns for the challenging puzzles House came up with, but, for the most part, she is happy. She broke it off with Chase. For once, she is simply free, no longer tied down to any one person or thing. Sure, late shifts are hell, but long bubble baths and glasses of wine make up for it.

They go out for drinks. As friends. For once, she smiles for him. A slow, beautiful smile, lighting up her face slowly. Blonde does suit her, he muses. They make plans.

It feels odd to have plans, but not in a bad way. It makes her feel in control. He is so like himself, and yet so completely the same. They still have their banter, but it is less staged, more free, easy. Flirting is no longer a forbidden stage.

A kiss. She kissed him. A night. Together. He feels complete, indescribably complete, a feeling that he hasn't experienced in a long time. There is a future for them, he realizes. He knows better then to mess it up this time. He's not sure if he can really.

The night, everything she expected it to be. Suddenly, she sees a light for them, shining and glittering like a firefly, as relieving as a lighthouse to a lost boat, stranded at sea.

Yes, she has changed, they have changed.
