Watch Me Fall.
Chapter 1
A/N: Enjoy. (:
Disclaimer: I own nothing; except the plot.
It all started when I was 5 year olds.
My Mother told me something I will always remember, something that will affect my life enormously.
She was sick, very, very sick. No, not the one-day-cold kind of sick, the life threatening kind of sick.
The day before she died, I begged her to stay with us. I told her she had to. She had to try. What was a 5 year old girl going to do without her mother? I wasn't strong, I was young. When you're young your biggest fear is the dark, you never even think of the possibility of your Mom dying.
She looked me straight in the eye, and said, "You'll be alright. You'll grow up to be a very strong, independent girl. You'll fall in love, and have a family of your own. Do you understand me?" I just nodded, those words sounded like a fairy tale to me at that age. I kept telling her, over and over, and she couldn't leave me.
That's when she said it.
That's when she told me the story.
"You know, I lost your Grandmother at a young age, too. She wasn't sick like me though. Your Grandma was a strange one, alright. She kept a diary. She only started writing in her diary when she met her first love, though. Every day I would see her writing in that thing. Sometimes she would read what she wrote to me, and sometimes she wouldn't. Before she died, she explained it to me. She told me that she had promised herself that once she ran out of pages in her diary, she would die. I know that sounds stupid to you. Running out of pages and then killing yourself…Why not just buy a new book? But to her, it seemed like once she ran out of pages, she wouldn't have anything left to share. No more memories that she needed to share. And if she didn't need to share anything, she thought she had no purpose." My mother sighed, taking in another breath getting ready to speak again.
"She knew what she was leaving behind, a husband that loved her, her three children. But we all understood and respected her choice. Of course it was killing us inside, but we knew we had to let her go. I knew I would join her in heaven one day."
"Oh…So, you want me to remember that I'll see you in heaven one day?"
She smiled at me before nodding.
"Then I will. I promise, Momma, one day I will be with you in heaven."
That's where it all went wrong.
I heard a voice calling my name that snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Miley?" the velvet tone got my attention right away.
I turned to face him, "Hmm?" I smiled lightly at the boy next to me.
He chuckled and tightened his grip on me, "You zoned out for a while, you know."
I sighed slightly, "Yeah, I know."
The only reason I zoned out was because today, I was starting my diary.
A/N: I hope you like it!
