There was a small temple near a forest in Japan where two small children were playing as the sun turned red and retreated by the horizon. One was a boy and the other was a girl, both had brown hair and eyes and were running around and laughing together.

"Hey Tsu-chan, look at what Otou-san gave me!" The boy called to his sister, who looked at the small staff in her brother's hands, "What is it?" the girl asked.

"It's a khakkhara! Otou-san said this kind is made for children, but I'll get a real when I'm older!"

The girl looked at her brother with admiration shining in her eyes, "That's so cool, Natsu-nii! I can't wait to see you with a real one!"

The two children laughed happily as their mother came out from the temple and called them both in,"Come on you two! It's time for bed!"

"Hai,Okaa-san!"The children chorused.

Their mother brought the girl to her room and just as the women was about to leave her daughter asked her something, "Okaa-san, why did Natsu-nii get something from Otou-san but you didn't give me anything?"

The women smiled gently and patted the girl's head, "Don't worry, you'll get something too, you just have to wait until you're older."

Her daughter pouted, "No fair! Natsu-nii got his now! Why do I have to wait?"

The mother chuckled, "What I'm going to give you carries a lot of responsibility that a child wouldn't be able to handle."

The girl huffed, "I'm old enough!"

"I'm sure you are, but let's wait a while, k?"

"K!"

An hour after she was left alone, the little girl was falling asleep when her door suddenly crashed open, causing her jump and look up to see her mother pulling her brother, who looked just as confused as her.

"O-okaa-san?" The girl nervously looked at her mother's panicked expression instead of her normally happy go-lucking features.

"We have to leave, now."

Both children were pulled out of the temple, only pausing to grab the boy's khakkhara(at his instance), and met up with the children's father.

Their father was holding a khakkhara similar to the boy's, only larger, and he looked just as grim as their mother, "They found us, if we don't move quickly they'll catch up."

Their mother nodded and just as they were about to pull their confused children into the forest for cover, a roar was heard and a black creature rose from the shadows, the girl screamed.

The creature was absolutely terrifying, it was walking on the ground like an animal but the two front limbs were human arms and it had another set of arms on its torso that were dragged across the dirt. It had wiry hair hanging down to its chest, its head with bent to the side with a part of its spine sticking out. It had no eyes, just hollowed out holes with blood flowing down its face and onto its body. Its mouth was sewed up, but the thread was breaking, leaving room to see its gleaming teeth. Its skin was completely black.

The boy looked like he was going to be sick from the smell of human flesh coming from the pieces of meat between the creature's teeth. His parents glared at the creature while standing protectively in front of their children.

Their father attacked the creature by swinging his khakkhara, but it didn't do much good. The creature struck one of its arms at the man, who blocked it, but the creature sent another arm into the man chest, right through his heart.

The small girl screamed, "OTOU-SAN!" Her brother held her back from running towards their father's discarded body and held her close to his chest as she sobbed.

The creature leaped at the children, but their mother stood protectively and was hit like her husband, only she was hit in her stomach. Taking advantage of the creature's close proximity, she quickly grabbed the khakkhara that her husband had dropped near them and stabbed it through the creature's heart, causing it to shriek and fade into black smoke.

The mother collapsed to the ground and her two children ran to her.

"Okaa-san! You're hurt!" The boy yelled, his sister next to him, looking as if she was about to faint.

Their mother looked at them grimly, "Don't worry about me, more enemies are coming! You have to take your sister and get out of here! Just keep running until dawn then find someone named Reborn, he's your father's friend. He'll help."

The girl shook her head, "No! We won't let you die like Otou-san!"

Her mother smiled sadly, "My my, you're growing up so fast, it's too bad I won't be able see you become a beautiful lady." The girl began crying again and clutched her mother's hand while her brother stood there with a disturbed look on his face.

Their mother pulled out a golden charm bracelet with a single orange crystal hanging off of it, she weakly lifted her hands and clasped the bracelet on her daughter's small wrist, "This is what you inherited, I wanted to give it to you on your sixteenth birthday, but I guess it can't wait." The girl looked at the object in wonder, she cupped the crystal in her hand and gasped when it glowed.

Her mother smiled, "It accepts you as its new guardian, and it's your responsibility to protect it." She turned to her son, barley breathing, "Natsu, protect you sister, I trust you to keep her safe." The boy nodded determinately and took hold of his sister's hand.

Their mother smiled and slowly closed her eyes, "That's good." The women went limp and the girl's eyes widened, "Okaa-san? Okaa-san! Please wake up!" The girl sobbed as she shook her mother's lifeless body.

The children heard another cry akin to the one the creature let out and the boy quickly grabbed his forgotten khakkhara and pulled his sister into the forest, "We have to do what Okaa-san said and get out of here!" The girl nodded numbly, still wiping away tears.

They kept running and the boy glanced behind them and panicked when he saw two creatures that were similar to the one that had killed their parents.

They kept running, but soon, the girl tripped and her brother stopped to help her, unfortunately giving their pursuers a chance to catch up. The girl looked terrified while the boy stood protectively in front of her and clumsily held up the khakkhara in a defensive position. One of the creatures attacked the boy who was barely able to protect himself as the creature flung him into an adjacent tree.

The other creature struck at the cowering girl, who closed her eyes, waiting for the pain. The pain didn't come, instead, she opened her eyes to see her brother standing over her protectively, covered in his own blood.

The girl's eyes widened, "N-natsu-nii?"

Her brother smiled weakly, "I-i'm supposed to protect you, right?" The creature tore its arm away, leaving the unmoving body at the girl's feet.

The girl stared wide eyed at her brother and didn't notice when the creatures came closer to her. She just squeezed her eyes shut and screamed, "NATSU!"

Suddenly, the crystal glowed and orange flames surrounded the girl, immediately dissolving one of the creatures while the other wisely stepped back.

The girl's knees buckled and she fell, exhausted from releasing the unknown power from her body. Unfortunately, the other creature was left unharmed and approached the girl, ready to attack, but stopped when a gunshot was heard.

The girl looked up weakly, and was shocked to see a portion of the creature missing, replaced by an impossibly large bullet hole.

"Chaos."

A man wearing a fedora hat and a suit stepped out of the trees holding a gun, the one used to shoot the creature. The creature charged at the man, but was shot twice, tearing its body apart.

The girl would have stared in awe but was too exhausted to even move, she was picked up by the mysterious man who covered her eyes to keep her from looking at her brother's body, "Staring at it will just make you sick."

The girl turned her head into the warm chest, "W-who-?" She whispered, her voice failing her as she barely held onto consciousness.

The man smirked at her, "I'm Reborn, I'm going to protect you from now on, k?" He didn't really expect an answer as the girl passed out.

*Ring* *Ring*

The alarm clock went ignored as the sleeping girl shifted around in her bed.

After about twenty minutes, Tsuna suddenly shot up in her bed, "Crap, I'm late!"

She quickly changed into her uniform and grabbed her school bag then was out the door in thirty seconds. She ran across the temple grounds, pausing only to make a quick five-second prayer at her family's graves, and continued running to school.

"Stupid dream making me late again!" She practically yelled as she ran to school, ignoring all of the stares she was getting from the people on the streets.

Tsuna didn't stop until she reached the school gates where she put her hands on her knees, panting.

"Were you late again, Tsuna-chan?" Tsuna looked up to see one of her two best friends waiting for her by the school doors.

She grinned sheepishly, "Kind of." Kyoko giggled, "Well then, come on! Haru-chan is waiting!"

Tsuna nodded as the two girls headed into the classroom.

Here's a new story! I should really update instead of writing new stuff… Oh well. Another FemTsuna fic, that's probably going to be all I write. I felt like making Tsuna a priestess since I needed something for her to be and I think it would be funny to see her in priestess outfit. By the way, a khakkhara is a monk staff used by japans priests.
