Chapter One
New Friends
James Potter stood beside his two best friends, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, taking in the magnificent platform 9 and ¾. From teary goodbyes to the astounding scarlet steam engine which had been dubbed THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS. Well at least you know where its heading if you come across it, thought James. This was the train that would take him and hundreds of others to the place he had dreamed and fantasized about since he had heard of it. James, Sirius and Remus lifted there trunks onto the train trying not to squash any pets, that had been let lose or escaped from there owners, with their trunks.
"Well, I guess we should try and find a compartment." Said Remus who unlike Sirius and James was struggling with his trunk.
"Here, let me help you with that," replied Sirius noticing Remus' struggle.
They searched and searched for a empty compartment and finally found one near the end of the train. As it was only 10:45 there was still a lot of people on the platform, one, James noticed, was a pretty red haired girl that was pulling at her trunk trying to make it move, but to no avail.
"I'll be right back guys" James said, and made his way to an exit on the train. When he got off the train the red head was still trying to move her trunk, so James walked up to her.
"Want some help?"
"Y- Yeah, if it not to much trouble" She replied looking embarrassed.
"No problem" James said as he lifted the trunk with ease.
"Thanks" She said still embarrassed
As they walked onto the train, with the red head still embarrassed and now looking down at the ground, they noticed that all of the compartments were vacant.
"You can sit in mine if you want" Suggested James.
"Could I? I don't want to be a burden"
"It's not a problem" smiled James as he made his way to the compartment he was in earlier.
"Thanks"
They finally found it and James opened the door to find that Sirus and Remus were playing exploding snap.
"Hey James" Said Sirius and Remus
"Hi guys"
"Hi" Said a voice a lot different from James'
Sirius and Remus looked up
"Oh, hi"
"Guys this is… actually what is your name?"
"Lily, Lily Evans"
"Hey lils, I'm the wonderful popular hansom charming-"
At this moment, Remus smacked Sirius round the head with a nearby newspaper.
"He's Sirius Black, and I'm Remus Lupin," Said Remus kindly.
"Oh and I'm James Potter" said James still from the doorway
"Nice to meet you all" Lily smiled
