-As The Years Go By-
The birthday party had just ended. Rei, with a warm smile flushed across his lips, waved goodbye to his daughter and stepson. He watched them drive off, waved and as he dropped his hand back to his side, he caught sight of another reason to smile so happily – his wedding ring.
He twirled the golden band a few times before letting the night's breeze take his contented sigh away.
''Come on, let's go back inside…'' Kai murmured and with a consenting nod, the parents shut and locked the doors behind them.
''That was nice…'' Rei said nostalgically as he curled up on the couch, before the lit fireplace.
Kai joined him, a similar smile playing upon his lips – genuine, wise, and overwhelmed with delight.
''You should be more enthusiastic, birthday boy.''
''I don't need to be at my age, Kai. I got everything I wanted this year. A loving husband, great children and a nice family dinner…''
''You sound so old, Rei.''
They shared an amused look and a light chuckle.
''Thank you, Kai, for the surprise party; I really hadn't expected it.''
Rei leaned over and his whispered words were followed by a soft kiss to his lover's cheek.
''Anything for you.''
Kai did not let Rei pull back and retreat into the corner of the couch. He spoke in a deeper, huskier voice and caught Rei's lips in a kiss. Kissing such a joyful smile, Kai knew, was a wonderful feeling. Rei was always so stunning when the corners of his mouth were curled.
The initial thanks and lighthearted, playful feeling of the kiss soon dissipated with precise kisses – longer and passionate ones, until finally Kai tugged on Rei's lower lip and initiated something much more intense. Their tongues rolled together, lapped and brushed in a familiar but always exciting rhythm.
Kai was still smooth and Rei still let him act young and cocky. He purred a sensuous rumble when Kai slid a hand up and in between his thighs, groping at the covered flesh. His own hands tangled in the pale, slate strands, tugging encouragingly.
''Are you trying to seduce me, Kai?'' Rei said between kisses, a raspy moment when they shared breaths and indulged in each other's faint blushes.
''Is it working?'' The reply was smug and playful, which caused Rei to laugh.
He tilted his head back and let Kai ravage the tan skin, as he murmured, ''Still trying to lure me into bed, even on my fiftieth birthday…'' there was another chuckle, ''of course it is.''
''Happy fiftieth, my love…''
