Give Away

The next day at school after the homecoming dance wasn't like any other day. Normally, there wasn't hundreds of yellow fliers asking if you seen "Cinderella", yet this wasn't an ordinary girl he was looking for either. She had been the only one who would listen him, and understand his dream. Behind the football captain was a person trying to find his true self. Little did he know that putting up fliers wasn't going to be necessary.

"Austin, any luck so far?" A fellow student asked.

"Nah, not yet. Thanks for asking. You have my number right?" He nodded and walked away. Austin, then went back to work.

After his friends attempt at a game show at his expense, he wandered down a empty hall way. The only other person was a the short blonde haired girl. Austin noticed she dropped something on the ground as she unpacked her things in to her locker. She didn't realize that she had dropped it, though. Walking over to pick it up for her he froze. Shocked to see what it was the closer he came, it was the mask that "Cinderella" was wearing during their meeting and dance. Not noticing him yet she finally saw the mask on the ground. Panicking while she picked it up and throwing it back in her locker and slamming the door shut. Her eyes lit up once she turned to Austin, she obviously knew that he'd been standing there while she picked up her mask. Neither one of them were able to say anything, but after a moment of gazing at each other she took off running down the hall. For a second, Austin didn't comprehend that she ran from him, but quickly came to his senses.

"Hey! Wait! Come back here!" Sprinting after her as fast as he could. "Hey, you in the blue shirt, stop!" She didn't listen and kept running until she reached the girls bathroom. Austin stopped and approached the bathroom door tempted to go in after her. Deciding it would be his last resort he knocked on the door pleading with her to come out. "Please don't hide from me. I don't want you to feel scared. Last night was amazing, you even said it yourself." Pacing back and forth eager to finally face her without her mask. "Okay, I guess I'll have to come in there after you." A few seconds past after his threat and he saw that the door had open just enough to see her face. "Hey, it's okay. Please come out here." Not responding to his request he begged her one last time. "Don't be scared, alright?" She stood at the door for a moment with a terrified look and began slowly creeping out of the bathroom. The door closing behind her and Sam was too ashamed to look him in the eye.

"Sorry, I ran from you", she whispered just loud enough for Austin to hear her.

"Don't be." All he could do was gaze at her immediately noticing her beautiful eyes that he was lost in the night before. "Wow, your eyes are so gorgeous. How did I not notice you before?" With an ear to ear smile on his face. She showed no emotion even though he paid he a great compliment. Approaching her with caution he placed his hands on her shoulders."You can run really fast, you know?" Trying to get her to smile. The warning bell rang before he could continue. "So, are you going to tell me your name before I go to class?" It looked like she was going to finally break her silence when she finally made eye contact.

"Um...my name is Sam."
