'This is the alley', Ben Urich managed to whisper.

He stared at Spiderman who was crouching against the brick wall.

'The world still needs heroes.'

Ben came closer and brushed his shivering fingertips against Spiderman's taut muscles.

'I do need heroes.'

Spiderman held him tight.

'I do need you.'

Spiderman teetered his pelvis and allowed him to sob on his shoulder and in his depths.

Then, the tears came.

The rain outflow from the exploded drainpipe covered their wheezing sighs.

Ben saw his reflection on Spiderman's golden masked eyes.

From then on, Green Goblyn's gaze would haunt him no more.
