First Kiss

Dawn watched wearily as Spike left and Giles and Buffy spoke in hushed whispers. Soon Buffy headed upstairs. Tears clouded her vision as Giles headed her way, hesitantly. She shook her head.

"I'm sorry, Giles. I-. I really need to speak to Spike. I'll be back later", Dawn told Giles in a trembling voice. In a minute, she was out the door. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her to catch up with Spike. When she did, she just silently walked beside him.

"Does the slayer know you're here, bit?" asked Spike. Dawn shook her head. He didn't say anything, understanding her need for silence. They both walked to his crypt in that silence. That silence that said more than if they were actually speaking. Entering Spike's domain, she slowly walks toward his couch, suddenly exhausted. He stood and looked around as if he doesn't recognize his own home. Soon he heard sniffling. He expected it. Of course he did. This was the bit. She only let him see her weakness. He walks toward her and gently takes her in his arms. Like that, he takes her downstairs. To his bed. He lays her down and silent tears are falling down from her eyes, staining the red silk bedspread, turning it's redness to something darker. As dark as blood. He soon lies down next to her and takes her in his arms yet again. It was never awkward for them anymore. They did it so much when Buffy was gone that neither was surprised when they showed affection and intimacy with each other. After letting her cry does he ask.

"What's wrong, nibblet?" She looked up at him with trust in her eyes. The trust for him, but hatred for the other.

"He stole my first kiss.", she explains simply. This was an answer that he didn't expect. But when he thought about it, it made sense. Poor bit! The one thing that she got to choose to give to someone. The greatest thing she had was stolen by a bloody vampire. Her virgin lips were taken by a disgusting thing.

She licked her lips. "I can still taste him", she looks at him with begging eyes, "Spike, please! Make his taste goes away"

So he did the only thing that he could do. He kissed her. It was a sweet kiss, one that he wasn't accustomed to, but it was one of his best. He did what she told him to. He made the other's taste go away and replaced it with his own. He broke away and stared at her. She had closed her eyes. He waited for the rejection and the harshness that the older Summers sister always gave him, but it never came. The only thing that came was the gratefulness and the care that he was not used to. She slowly opened her eyes and a slow smile appeared on her face.

"That was my first kiss"
