A change of pace - A Harry Potter Fanfic

"Someone's been killed!" A man barged into Three Broomsticks, completely disrupting our poker game. Matilda Croakshack, unfazed by his shouting, put down her cards and calmly looked up.

"What?"

The man was obviously worn out, trying to retain as much oxygen as he could. He coughed when he breathed all of the dust locked in the stuffy room.

"Harry Potter...Lily...James... that evil guy..." he gasped.

"Oh please!" Matilda snapped. "No one can hear you unless you stop all that fussing and speak properly! You there!" She pointed at a couple having a conversation. "Shut up and let him speak!"

At this, he jerked his head up.

"Lily and James...killed." He choked. "Dead. Lying on the cement. He-who-must-not-be-named... he did it. He killed the lot of 'em."

Outbursts were made.

"What'd he say?"

"Dead? How could that be?"

"Why?"

And some idiot shouted, "Were all gonna die!"

"Shut it!" Matilda screeched. The noise faded. "Instead of just lying here acting stupid, shall we go ourselves?"

A loud noise could be heard when everyone backed out of they're chairs and rushed to the door. Like ants drawn to sugar, a huge crowd formed. A white barrier surrounded the crime scene as ministry officials kept people away, either by stunning them or repelling them. Fudge, whipping out his wand placed a silencing charm on the crowd.

"Unfortunately, an ill-fated incident toke place here. You know what, I'm too lazy to talk to you, and so I'll let Christopher do it. Bye!" And with that he disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

A brown-haired man cleared his throat.

"Lily and James Potter died at the hands of who-must-not-be-named. Harry Potter will live with his immediate family members. More in the Daily Prophet...

Now, you think you've heard this tale before, but take a closer look at it. Since everyone's attention was primarily on Christopher, nobody noticed, next to Lily and James lifeless bodies were two little babies. One with red hair and one with black, both cooing and giggling at the fuss being made. Their green eyes brimmed with innocence, not knowing that they'd be separated for a long time.

Yay! My first fanfic eva! You can review down there whether it's good or bad. Lastly I'm looking for characters so put down their profiles (name, birthday, house, looks, personality, friends, boyfriends, yadda, yadda, yadda...)
