honeyed words
→ he whispered sweet nothings into her ear.
Pride, family honour – that's what truly mattered. Disgracing his family's name with shameful deeds was a sin – a sin of which he never wanted to commit, never wanted to face; never wanted to admit he caused. Instead, polishing the family name with sincere effort is what longed for, what he was trained for. That is, until he met her. Hisana – as graceful as it sounds, it's more elegant when it is said, for it is the name that cancels out all others – the name he loved. He wanted her, he wanted to be with her but in doing so, it would go against all he lived for. And yet, none of that mattered now.
She was the wind beneath his wings, his extra support he needed when he was down. Hisana showed him things that other could not for she was his miracle, the answer to his cries; a light beamed from the heaven's above and graced his presence. It was her that tied that knot within his heart – the knot that only a special someone could tie. That someone was her.
They met secretly, mostly at nights when no souls were up and about, when only them could share intimate moments with just the moon watching their several acts of tenderness. He whispered sweet nothings into her ear, sighing out innocent words of comfort and adoration to make her feel wanted – secure – now that she was his.
All he wanted was hisana to know how much she meant to him, how she could depend on him no matter what the situation, that she could lean on him, cry on him, whisper words of despair and sorrow to him. He would soak them up completely and reverse them into encouraging, thoughtful words that she desperately needed to hear so she could continue on surviving.
Soft flushed coloured cheeks rubbed against one another, their noses grazing ever so slightly, quivering lips touching confident ones briefly – this was their moment, the chance to express their feelings for each other and until something was done, this was the only chance they could get. Soon, eyes flickered to each other's and byakuya saw something in hers that cause a part of his chest to clench.
Regret. Her eyes flooded with regret and burden. For all the months and days they had been together, it was only now that he realised them and that made his chest clench even more. He pulled back and rested his palm on her cheek, his thumb caressing just below her left eye as questions that he normally didn't ask raced through his mind. Was it him? Was she regretting their relationship? Was he doing something wrong?
He looked at her and read her worried expression, causing him to look down. Hisana retaliated by pressing her forehead against his and questioned of what was the matter. Byakuya shook his head in no but both of them knew each other better than that and so, she asked again. This time he adverted his eyes to hers and still saw the same regret aura they casted off before. He knew he had to ask because it was the right thing to do but it wasn't the right time to do it. This wasn't a moment he wasn't going to ruin with mindless assumptions. Byakuya wanted this night to be perfect.
