Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I still do not own One Piece, its characters, locations or story; but oh how I wish…
Episode I: Trying Times
He dragged himself onward. With each passing step, the growls emanating from underneath his green haramaki grew louder; the myriads of muscles in his toned body were gradually weakening, all his vital systems constantly on the brink of complete collapse due to complete lack of nourishment.
He had not had food in he did not know how many days; yet judging by his own state, his last meal must have been several days ago. It certainly felt like an eternity had passed since that fated day. Actually, it had started off as a perfectly normal day; the swordsman had set off for some training in the last hours of the night, knowing he likely remain undisturbed. Yet when the smallest hint of hunger set in with the first rays of sunlight, he had abandoned his exercises. Tragically, however, he had never made it back. For some strange reason, he simply could not find the way back, no matter how often he tried and which corners he took. He had officially gotten himself lost. And this time, he knew, it was serious. There was no source of food or water to be found, and his energy was leaking out of his body like air from a perforated tire.
This is it, the swordsman thought as his knees finally gave in and his massive body collided with the ground. What a pathetic way of failing…
The clanking of his trusted katana was the last sound ringing to his ears as Roronoa Zoro's mind went blank.
.-.-.-.-.
"Nee, Luffy", Usopp turned to the captain of the small crew, furrowing his brows, "have you got any idea where Zoro is?"
The rubber man looked up at his marksman, mouth still stuffed with several dozens of apples, and tilted his head to the side.
"Hmm…" he tried for several moments, but finally resigned "No idea."
"That idiot probably just got himself lost again", Sanji smirked as he lit another cigarette and contently drew in the smoke.
Leave it to the swordsman to get himself completely lost… once again, Nami thought, rubbing her forehead to drive away a headache that would doubtlessly set in very soon. Sighing, she put her map on the table and looked over at the cook.
"Sanji-kun, could you please go and look for Zoro?"
The blond man had been well expecting this and with hearts in his eyes set off toward the storage area.
By this time of the day, as Nami figured, he had usually made it that far. It was the same game, every day, without exception. Certainly, they all greatly enjoyed the new ship Luffy had chosen, a vessel at least half a dozen times bigger than their trusted Merry, but as with all things, there were prices they had to pay.
Yes, leave it to Zoro to get himself lost, she thought, even on his own ship.
Have you ever wondered…
What will happen if the mugiwara's new ship is only slightly bigger than the Going Merry?
a/n: Well, this is my first try at a oneshot, and at humor, in a way. The idea for this particular piece came to my mind when I was – once again – watching One Piece with my best friends. We do get the craziest ideas… and there's more where that came from. I intend to make this into a series of OneShots, but this basically depends on your feedback, so please READ & REVIEW!
