Disclaimer: I don't own Gundam 00. If I did I wouldn't be writing this story since Lockon would be alive.

Gundam 00
I Hate It…

"Oi… Are you all satisfied with this kind of world?" Lockon Stratos asked hoarsely as he gazed at the Earth with his left-eye. He floated slowly away from the damaged GN Arm as he said this. The GN Arm he had used to finally exact his revenge on Ali Al-Sarshes, the man responsible for the greatest act of pain and suffering in his life, the man who caused him to join Celestial Being and become a Gundam Meister.

As the dying Dynames pilot drifted he couldn't help but continue his questioning of the world in his own mind, even as his voice didn't let him.

'How can you all be so easily satisfied with the world you live in? You sit there in your homes, looking at the world's tragedies with barely any recognition. Are we humans so guiltless that we would rather pretend the world has no such tragedies? Can we really look at ourselves and say we are content with the world as people die everyday thanks to our own intolerance and greed?'

His thoughts changed however as the familiar scene of Christmas with his family played again through his mind. He saw himself, so happy and carefree, so innocent and naïve, uncomprehending of the world's troubles as he enjoyed peace and security with his family.

'Heh, I'm one to talk. I was content with you myself until that day. The day I lost you guys, tousan, kaasan, Amy… I guess that those of us who haven't lost anything in this world really are content with it. We don't care until we realize they can touch us and take away so much from us in the harshest ways. Maybe that's why you all hate us "war ending terrorists". Setsuna… Maybe that's why they hate us Gundam Meisters, the Gundams, and Celestial Being. We're changing this world that they've become so satisfied with. I may never be forgiven for my sins, but I'm glad I fought so hard for this future Lyle will live in. You all might be satisfied with this kind of world, but as for me…'

Lockon slowly raised his left arm, framing the world with his index and thumb for a moment before shifting his hand into the shape of a gun and aiming it at the Earth and all the people who were satisfied with their chaotic world. As the damaged GN Arm sparked and began to explode he whispered his final words to the world before being bathed in the white light created by his instrument of revenge.

"I hate it…"

AN/ I wrote this after watching episode 23 of Gundam 00 the first time. Lockon was among my favorite character's shown in this series, and his death hit me very hard. I don't know if someone is reading this story months down the line, and if by some plot twist Lockon survived in one way or another, but these were my ideas of what he thought before he died, as well as his unspoken questions to the world he hated so much.

Please read and review.
