A/N: This is a little one-shot that came to me this afternoon during my English class. I do a lot of my best writing in that class. Well, anyway, I hope you enjoy this.

Disclaimer: I do not own Trey, Quattro, Quinton, or any of the other characters in the series, Shin Yoshida does.

Thirteen-year-old Thomas Arclight stared out the window of the room he shared with his eleven-year-old brother Michael.

Michael lay in his bed, only a few feet from Thomas'. The older Arclight could tell his brother had cried himself to sleep. His puffy eyes were a clear sign of this.

It didn't surprise the older boy. Even now, little Michael still suffered from terrible nightmares. Ever since the two siblings had been sent to the orphanage, Michael would cry

'One year,' Thomas told himself. 'We've been stuck here on our own for one year now.'

Yes, it had been one whole year since Thomas and Michael's older brother, Christopher Arclight, had sent them to an orphanage while he had remained with their father's partner Dr. Faker in order to find out the truth about their father's disappearance.

"Thomas…"

The middle Arclight child turned to see Michael now awake, his emerald green eyes wide with what looked to be sadness…and fear.

"Michael, what is it?" the red-and-yellow-haired boy asked, walking over to his brother's side.

"A-are you…going to leave too?" the younger boy whimpered, wiping his eyes.

"What?" Thomas was taken aback by Michael's question.

"Father left…Chris let them take us here…are you going to leave me here alone?"

Michael was crying now, just like he had when he and Thomas had been taken away from their older brother, begging him to keep them with him. But their pleas had fallen on deaf ears. They had been placed here and for the time being, it seemed that they were going to stay here.

Thomas hugged his brother and ran his fingers through Michael's soft pink curls.

Little Michael buried his tear-stained face in his older brother's shirt, desperate for some reassurance that he wouldn't be alone.

"Can…c-can I…?" the child's voice trailed off.

"What is it?" Thomas asked, wanting to ease his baby brother's pain.

"Can I sleep here with you tonight?" Michael asked.

Thomas took one look into his sibling's cherubic face and he could not say no.

"Okay," he said, smiling slightly. "Come on, it's late, we both need to get to bed."

Michael hurried over to his own bed, yanked off the blankets, and climbed onto Thomas' bed.

Thomas couldn't help but feel a little better about their situation as he helped his brother. The whole time Michael smiled at his brother, his green eyes filled with adoration.

"Thank you, big brother," he whispered as his brother wrapped him snugly in his own blankets before tucking him in with the blankets that they would share.

"You warm enough?" Thomas asked attentively.

Michael nodded and snuggled close to his older brother.

Thomas put his arm around Michael as the child fell asleep.

They both were all the other had now. They had to stay together. And Thomas knew he had to be strong for himself and his brother.
