Chapter 1: In Love

Mr. Bliss and Corrival ARE elders

The accelerator IS still there

Valkyrie has NOT had her surge yet

Valkyrie and Dexter ran down to the accelerator room and kicked open the door. But it was to late, Corrival was already boosted with power. Dexter crused and let a stream of energy hit Corrival. Corrival stumbled and lunged at Valkyrie. Valkyrie kicked and moaned. Dexter punched Corrival as Ghastly and Skulduggery ran in. China following after. Skulduggery pulled out his revolver and shot two times. Corrival screamed in pain. China touched her thighs and symbols lit up making blackness swirl around like a shadow. Valkyrie heard Skulduggery curse. The black smoke finally reached Valkyrie and he eyes started to sting and her legs felt weak. She fell on her back and lay on the ground trying to breath. She opened her mouth and breathed in the air. Her eyes stopped stinging and she rolled over opening her eyes. The cloud of black smoke was gone but Valkyries eyes were still hard to see through. She squeezed her eyes shut and opened them again. It was clear now. Valkyrie saw Ghastly getting up. Skulduggery already standing but Dexter lying on the floor moaning. Valkyrie got up. Her bones still weak. She rapped an arm around Skulduggery.

"It will be OK Valkyrie, It's alright."

"Skulduggery, what was that?" Valkyrie asked threw her weak mouth.

"It was a symbol China must have carved on just now. She did take long before she followed us."

Valkyrie looked at the door. It was locked and sealed shut.

"Skulduggery what do we do?"

"Valkyrie, to be honest with you, I have no clue. But we will find a way."

"Thanks Skulduggery. I knew you would know."

Valkyrie helped Dexter get up. She brushed her self down. The accelerator sat on the table and the engineer standing there doing nothing.

"Plan A? Skulduggery?" Ghastly asked.

"Well we could shot the door break it down. Plan B. We climb threw the air ventilation and get threw that way."

"What air ventilation?" Valkyrie asked.

"That one." Skulduggery and Dexter looked at the plan wall. Valkyrie nodded.

"Ah, I see. So plan A is ready. I think so. Everybody! 1 2 3!" Skulduggery and Valkyrie and Ghastly pushed at the air. Dexter made a stream of energy into the door an it only shifted. They all did it again and it didn't move at all.

Valkyrie moaned as Skulduggery started touching the wall next to him.

"Don't be so rude." Skulduggery said calmly.

She ignored him and smiled as the wall opened the size of an air ventilation down the bottom of the wall.

"I'll go first," Skulduggery said, "Then Valkyrie, then Dexter, then Ghastly. Clear." They all nodded.

Skulduggery put his gun away and took his hat off. He crawled in and waved his hand to the rest. Valkyrie followed after. Then Dexter, then Ghastly.
