Disclaimer: I do not own Ranma ½ or any characters within.
Notes: Takes place Volume 9 when Mousse is trying to turn Ranma into a duck. One-shot.
What the Duck?
"Why isn't she turning back?" I shouted.
"Hmm…yes…well…" Tendo-san said with Akane on his head. "There's nothing to worry about, Ranma. Now you just have to do the honorable thing." He continued patting my shoulder. He grabbed my shoulder and a tear rolled down his face. "To the wedding!"
My eye twitched. The wedding…?
And in a flash we were sitting on pillows, I was in a wedding kimono and Akane had a cloth on her head.
"Ohhh Akane, you're so radiant! Ranma, take care of my little girl."
"Uhh…" I was still at a loss for words.
Nabiki and Kasumi were talking in the corner preparing the wedding sake. How long have they been planning this?
"Now come on, drink your wedding toast!" he grabbed Akane who quacked in anger as I gulped mine down.
"Ducks don't drink sake daddy!" Nabiki interjected, as Tendo grabbed Akane who was trying to fly away.
"Hold still, girl!" she quacked at him angrily. I could almost hear her voice as if she was yelling at me. Calling me a pervert, brandishing that hammer and smashing it on my head. I sighed. I knew I could hardly admit it to myself, much less anyone else; but I did care for her. A lot. Okay, more than a lot. But she made it so hard to tell her.
And so I never would. Eventually they'd give up on us and me and Pop would move on and I'd never see her again.
Or I would marry her right now, we'd find a cure so she was at least human most of the time and maybe she'd begin to like me too.
"C'mon, Akane." I said grabbing her. "Give it up already. A homely chick like you…" she started pecking my forehead furiously, just like when she punched or kicked or hit me with some large object. This of course made me angry. "...had better grab any chance she gets! You should be grateful!"
Tendo hit the back of my head. "Can we get on with this?"
I sighed and set her down.
"Yeah, let's get on with it." I bowed down as the sake was passed around between my family and hers. I picked her up and we walked towards the large tree in the back yard. Kasumi handed me two twigs and I broke one bowing before the tree. I placed the other twig in front of Akane's beak and she quacked and snapped at it, breaking it as well.
I bowed again for her, and we were married.
Tendo was grabbing pop and they were hugging and laughing with glee.
Kasumi was smiling a mile wide and Nabiki snapped hundreds of pictures as fast as possible.
"To the feast!"
We walked back in with Akane sitting at the table sipping a cup of tea.
"Hey guys, what's going on? Cute duck Ranma, gonna marry it or something?"
The End
