AN: Okay, this is my first ever fan fiction and the first time anybody has read my writing outside of school assignments. I apologize if the spacing is funny but I wasn't sure about how my computer would handle it. Also, I apologize in advance for any errors. Thanks to Lauren for reading it through for me. Please read and review, I know it's just a drabble but I would love some feed back and constructive criticism is always appreciated. This is for the few remaining Narco fans, enjoy.

Disclaimer: I do not own Gilmore Girls, any of the songs I mention, not even the computer I'm typing this up on. Needless to say, please don't sue me, you won't get much.

Would You Like To Dance?

It is the reception of Luke and Lorelai's wedding. Rory, is back in Stars Hollow for the event and it is her first overnight stay in months. "Living on a Prayer" came to an end and "You and Me" by Lifehouse started to play. Rory wasn't with Logan anymore; her plea with him to grow up had gone very sour. She'd been thinking about Dean a lot lately, ever since she opened that can of worms to the shrink about how much better Dean was for her than her other boyfriends had been. He was by no means perfect. He had messed up big time with Lindsay, Rory knew that, but still, she could forgive him. At the moment though, she was single, almost painfully so.

Needless to say she's not dancing, merely watching sadly as her mom and new Step dad, her grandparents, and Lane and Zack dance slowly with one another, swaying to the beat.

She missed Dean. She hadn't seen him since he drove off in his pick up truck, his heart broken for a third and probably final time, she reflected. She had heard talk of Dean and Lindsay getting back together the last time she was in town. Why do I seem to destroy almost every good thing that happens to me?

A tall figure comes up behind Rory and taps her on the shoulder, she turns around and it's Dean.

"Hey, chicken or beef?" He says. Rory's eyes widen, "just kidding, would you like to dance?"

Rory looks at him curiously. "But Lindsay . . .?"

"Gone. California is my guess."

"Really? What happened?"

"Do you remember Dave Rygalski?" Rory nodded, "well apparently she'd been talking to him online since we got back together. Then one day she just left, she left one of his e-mails on the table for me when I got home."

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Rory replied. Even though inside she was grinning like the Cheshire cat.

He shakes his head and chuckles lightly, seeing through her lie immediately and holds a finger up to silence her. As he looked her directly in the eyes he replies, now serious, "Don't be," and grins, "So, how about that dance?"

Rory smiles and he returns it and leads her out onto the dance floor, they dance slowly to the beat. Lorelai sees them dancing and looks confused at first, but sees that Dean is no longer sporting a wedding band on his left hand. She catches Rory's eye as she and Dean turn. The mother and daughter smile at each other knowing that things are finally how they are supposed to be. Rory rests her head back on Dean's shoulder, she can feel him grinning as he rests his chin on the top of her head. She reflects back on how amazing everything has worked out, as the notes of the song fades away.
