So I swear I'm working on my other story. It's been slow going and I honestly have been in a slump for awhile now. However, school's finally out so I'll have more time to write and less stress to go with it. This story is based off of a fan art I saw on Pinterest. Not sure who to give credit to, but not my own idea, only the story is mine. I do not own Miraculous or the characters.
"We're gonna be late for school at this rate," Ladybug remarked, not turning her focus away from the dragon-themed akuma at hand. The costume was worse than the Bubbler's.
"It's not like we have perfect attendance so what's one more tardy?" I joked, dodging a blast of fire. Ladybug just shook her head but I managed to catch the half smile before she summoned her lucky charm. An old fashioned hand fan fell into her waiting hands.
"Keep him busy, Chat. I've got an idea." And she was gone, leaving me to face the tiny terror alone.
"She didn't even stick around for me to tell her that I was her greatest fan." I sighed, jumping lazily to the next building. "Aren't you a little young to be out of the nest already?" I taunted, diving underneath the akuma. I extended my baton tripping the akuma without breaking stride.
"I'm a dragon! Not a bird!" He yelled. "Rawr, rawr!" He began to inhale when Ladybug landed in front of him.
"Well it's about time you came to see your fans," I quipped, making my way to her side.
"No time for that. Chat, his necklace!" I called upon my Cataclysm, waiting for the signal from Ladybug. "Now!" she called, flicking the fan open. We leaped together as the dragon boy started to blow out the fire. Ladybug snapped the fan shut over his mouth, which I'll say, was pretty like like. I rolled under snagging the necklace with my right hand, disintegrating it. The dark aura fell away leaving a child, no older than five, sitting there.
"It's okay little bud," I tried to reassure, crouching down to his level. Ladybug did her thing while I helped the kid down to the street. His mother was there, running from person to person asking whether they saw her son or not. When her eyes finally landed on the child in my arms, she rushed forward, arms open wide.
"Thank you for saving my son. I don't know what I would do without him." Without another word, the lady walked off cradling her child once again. Ladybug landed next to me just as my miraculous began to beep.
Turning to her with a smirk on my face, I asked, "Any chance we'll be going together today bugaboo?"
"Just this once," she relented, throwing her yo-yo in the direction of our school.
Two minutes later we were sprinting through the halls towards Miss Bustier's classroom. Marinette made it to the door slightly in front of me. We were both panting and out of breath when she opened the door and walked in.
"Where were you?" Miss Bustier asked Mari, not unkindly.
"I was… doing stuff," she muttered, shuffling towards her desk.
I took a moment to lean against the door frame before making my presence known with two words: "I'm stuff." The smirk on my face was definitely one never seen on Adrien before but it was worth it to see everyone's jaws drop and Mari's face turn a whole shade darker than her suit.
